In the case of lindow common birch is seen as an invasive species which threatens the heathland habitat - designated a SSSI. The rangers are removing the birch, essentially a weed, and encouraging growth of heather. So in this case, yes, essentially the trees are bad. 149.170.39.36 (talk)
- Well, I like the trees and feel that the common is less fun without them. There is no objective reason why heathland is good and trees bad. The area was trees before it was heatland. Saying the trees are bad is POV.Cutler (talk) 23:21, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
