Pieces removed, that may be salvageable
editI took these two bits out:
"An analog chip uses its active devices primarily in their active regions. This is the fundamental difference between digital chips and analog chips.
Digital chips define only two states by using devices in the cutoff region and often in the overdriven region as well."
- It is nothing but a misconception. Analog switches use MOSFETs NOT in active regin, but analog switches are analog ICs. Neonil 12:50, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
They may be useful with further definitions inserted, especially for "active devices" (which in a first pass I had linked to 'active components', but since the relevance wasn't clear, I took out), "active regions", "cutoff region", "overdriven region". I took this out as well, for similar reasons:
"It is not difficult to bias "digital" TTL and CMOS chips [Inverters and Buffers] into linear operation. Very useful circuits can be formed that way. The 4007 is legendary for such uses." Figma 22:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
