Please have more than one source so that the information presented is verifiable. Simply relying on a newspaper makes the article unreliable. --JustBerry (talk) 03:46, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

No reliable source found as of yet provide any specific details of his army service, such as specific dates served and locations. There are mentions that he served two years in the army without any details. Online collections searched are Google, Newspapers.com by Ancestry, NewspapersArchive.com and Fold3 by Ancestry. Fold3 has a DSS Form 1 Draft Registration Card dated November 18, 1943 completed while at Dartmouth College. Fold3 also has a transcribed "Index Record for Lisle C Carter Jr WWII Army Enlistment Records", which appears to be partially complete, but contains an "Enlistment Date: August 30, 1944" and an "Army Serial Number: 42179768". This enlistment date may be while he was still at Dartmouth College as he is listed as Class of 1945. I have removed "Category:United States Army personnel" from the article until a defining role in the army is established. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 16:46, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
