editThere seems to be an issues with the sources under references. Both go to an error page. I think we should delete them. WanderinGwyneth (talk) 20:33, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
- You are quite right, WanderinGwyneth, those links no longer work – unfortunately the FAO has redesigned its website, and the hundreds of links to DAD-IS have ceased to function, though the data is still there (the starting-point is here). However, we don't delete references just because the link has stopped working, but assume in good faith that the person who added the link (in this case, me) accessed it at the time and checked that it supported the article text. By the way, I don't think anyone believes that the Arab originated in Egypt – the Arabian Peninsula is usually thought to be its place of origin. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:56, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Justlettersandnumbers. Sounds good. I'll keep an eye out for some sources to add. I agree with you about the Arab horse not originated in Egypt, but due to the development of the breed and the long history of horses being bred and designated as Egyptian-Arab horses, I figured it was important to add to the list. I can also add Arabian Gulf, so no one gets confused. What do you think?WanderinGwyneth (talk) 16:12, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
- Well, WanderinGwyneth, as I said above, I think it doesn't belong here because it didn't originate in Africa, and this is a list of breeds which did. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:24, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
