Should this article be List of United States truck manufacturers ? MilborneOne (talk) 10:53, 19 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thought of this first; I'm happy with either one. On reflection, U.S. maybe makes more sense. One Q for you: include U.S.-based facilities of foreign companies, like M-B or Toyota? (With "American", it's clear they wouldn't be on the list; "U.S.", maybe less so.) Trekphiler (talk) 20:33, 19 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

What about a separate list, or section whithin this article, of ONLY CURRENT manufacturers?

edit

together with their brands, which should not be listed as manufacturers on their own. The many defunct manufacturers should not appear in that list, at least not as a primary level entry. Maybe as a hierarchical presentation:

  • manufacturer X
    • brands currently used by this manufacturer X
    • former brands merged into this company X

As far as I know, there is currenly only a handful of manufacturers, and most of them foreign owned (by Daimler, Traton, Volvo, who else?). With this list it is very difficult to find out those still active companies. --L.Willms (talk) 12:04, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I mean only real trucks, not pickups, not vans, --L.Willms (talk) 17:37, 10 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
