Features table

edit

Would it make sense to include a Features table? Most of the launchers have features in common, such as hiding apps from the drawer, changing the icons, etc. (Of course, a truly exhaustive table including the "long tail" of features would be impracticable, but the most common ones should cover the great majority of launchers). Thoughts? --Waldir talk 14:16, 30 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Inclusion criteria

edit

We should follow general Wikipedia practice for articles like this (see WP:NOTDIR, WP:LSC and WP:WTAF) and only list launchers that are notable by Wikipedia standards (see WP:GNG). Basically, significant coverage by at least two reliable sources. In practice this means the launcher should get an article first (passing notability requirements) and then add the link here. --Dodi 8238 (talk) 13:22, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Shark-oxi: How is this notable? Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 19:54, 18 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Emir of Wikipedia: It uses Moments and this is open-source. Shark-oxi (talk) 16:57, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Shark-oxi: How does that mean it is notable though? Please read WP:CSC. --Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 17:23, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Emir of Wikipedia: Yes 9 cards interface is uncommon and open-source android launcher are rare. That's also rare that android app are built with Scala. So I think this is notable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shark-oxi (talkcontribs)

@Shark-oxi: In Wikipedia notable has a specific meaning as stated at Wikipedia:Notability. Whether it is uncommon or rare is not relevant unless mentioned by the WP:RSs. --Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:25, 5 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Emir of Wikipedia: Significant coverage: 100,000 - 500,000, Reliable : open-source so verifiable, Sources & Presumed : no secondary sources but a lot of app here don't have too and that mean wikipedia is only for famous things, Independent of the subject: I am. Why did you reverted my contribution? or why didn't you removed EverythingMe, OpenLauncher that doesn't have any sources? I truly don't understand. --Shark-oxi (talk) 18:27, 26 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Shark-oxi:
What do you mean by 100,000 - 500,000 in regards to significant coverage? App downloads?
What do you mean by Reliable : open-source so verifiable? Whether it is open source or closed source is irrelevant in regards to notability.
If apps here don't have any secondary sources at the moment please add {{citation needed}} (template:citation needed) and if none is given or found then we shall remove them too. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 18:58, 26 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Pear Launcher and it's irrelevancy

edit

As stated and done before, Pear Launcher doesn't meet the guidelines for notability, which makes it's entry irrelevant in my opinion and was stated by others in a similar topic before:
"If apps here don't have any secondary sources at the moment please add (..) and if none is given or found then we shall remove them too." Divadsn (talk) 21:18, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
