3.2 S50

edit

Hi all! The euro 3.2 S50 is missing from this list, isn't it?

Morgan Aero 8 Engine

edit

Does anyone know what engine is used in the Morgan Aero 8? I see that it was listed under the M62TUB44 section, but without a source. Each of the other listed articles list the engine as being used, but the Morgan article is silent on the issue. This engine could be a M62 or an N62. Can anyone back up what engine is used?? Grouping

edit

Anyone have objections to dividing the engines first by fuel type, then by cylinders? Balfa (talk) 14:05, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and changed it. This brings it more in line with some of the better developed engine lists, such as List of GM engines or List of Toyota engines. I also added technical details pertaining to each family of engines. I intend to add more in the future. Perhaps eventually it will turn into a table instead of a list. 1989 M3

edit

"1989 - 3.0 L S50 for M3"

Did not have the S50, it was powered by the S14, which was a four cylinder. Changed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.87.2.98 (talk) 21:12, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

convert this article to timeline template

edit

It would be great if every BMW engine article had a timeline down the bottom to put the engine into historical perspective (ie the equivalent of the cars timeline which appears at the bottom of BMW 3200 CS). Therefore I propose to convert this article to a timeline and move any remaining info into the page for the relevant engine. 1292simon (talk) 06:49, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Now that the timeline is up and running, I believe this page is redundant. 1292simon (talk) 09:03, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
yep its redundant and not anymore a list,should be removed -->Typ932 T·C 01:16, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Technologies section

edit

I have trimmed the content to reply less on BMW jargon. However I still believe this section should be removed. This article is just a list of engines, in my opinion it is better to leave the descriptions of features in the articles of the engines which use it. The content feel out of place and promotional here. 1292simon (talk) 09:02, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Err - where are the diesels?

edit

BMW is pretty well known for its diesel - but they don't seem to exist according to this article (sorry if this is heresy to those who believe petrol is the only roadcar fuel!) 81.106.218.66 (talk) 11:02, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, it would be great to also have the diesel engines listed. I've made room for it for when someone gets inspired to start putting it together 01:18, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

New page

edit

Some of you prefer timeline look, some of you think this should be just a list and nothing else. I agree with you all so I made new version of page. 1st part of page is simple list 2nd part is timeline look, I added diesel timeline 3rd part is Technologies in modern engines, I think it should be here because you can't repeat all the same stuff in every engine article. Here you have all main technology from modern engines in one place. i hope you agree. ZunaOFP (talk) 18:56, 27 December 2012 (UTC)ZunaOFPReply
