Foremost, a number of "villain team-ups" were not correctly listed. It did correctly characterize Lola Lasagna as Penguin's partner, but it failed to acknowledge that Lady Peasoup was Lord Ffogg's co-billed partner, not one of his "underlings"; likewise Olga was Egghead's co-billed partner, Calamity Jan was Shame's partner, and Cabala was Cassandra's partner. The characters Lady Peasoup, Olga, Calamity Jan, and Cabala all received "Extra Special Guest Villain(ess) billing alongside those they teamed with; they were not mere "underlings". Since Ffogg/Peasoup and Cassandra/Cabala appeared only as teams, I listed them together. "Conversely", while Olga only/always appeared teamed with Egghead, he was not always teamed with her; likewise Calamity Jan and Shame (as it was already shown with Lola Lasagna and the Penguin).

Also, a number of the villains had "articled" names; we may refer to "Joker", but he was properly known as "The Joker"; and a villain like "Archer" needs to be clarified that it was not just someone's name, "Archer" — he was "The Archer". Likewise The Mad Hatter, The Penguin, The Riddler, The Bookworm, The Minstrel, The Puzzler, The Sandman, and The Siren. Further, the series did document that the Mad Hatter's real name was Jervis Tetch (as it had been in the comics); Black Widow was the widowed Mrs. Black, etc. Zelda the Great was a character added for the TV series to a story about Eivol Ekdal from Detective comics.

Among actually many henchmen omissions was the Bookworm's moll, Lydia Limpet, to scratch the surface. Freddy the Fence appeared not only in part 2 of Catwoman's college caper, but also in the episode about Minerva. It should be clarified exactly whose aunt, Aunt Harriet was; namely, Dick Grayson's.

And "crimedom" was misspelled.

As far as template damage, the solution is to repair the structures, not remove the information. Don't be scared because the changes are "massive". If you want to improve the situation, fix the defects, don't merely amputate sound content. 108.1.68.136 (talk) 02:42, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Short version for right now:
  • Editing in lieu of discussing contested changes is not helpful.
  • Mass changes in 1 edit is rarely a good thing.

"Short version": YOU are the one who reverted my edits without discussion. These "mass changes in 1 edit" were all right, factually. I found numerous, egregious factual errors and omissions in this article — it was in very POOR shape. I corrected them. Don't you WANT this article to be better? That you should just "dump" my corrections shows the biggest problem. 141.158.64.212 (talk) 10:55, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Bluntly: If you feel there is substance your mass edit and you can avoid your mistakes, feel free to re add them, 1 section at a time and 1 type at a time. That is: 1 for spelling errors. Then one to improve the content in each section. And since the content change is likely to be contentious, maybe start on the talk page.

Bluntly, if that's how you're going to be, screw this, screw Wikipedia. Let the article be a piece of crap. You idiots deserve each other. 141.158.64.212 (talk) 22:57, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bit parts

Looking at the section, are the "Henchmen" anything but an exercise of listing trivial information to "complete" the cast index? - J Greb (talk) 02:24, 14 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Since nothing has been done to actually improve this, I've removed the section as trivia.

Batman '66 Comic Book References

edit

Being as this particular comic book series is a 21st Century creation , is it really accurate to apply it's contents to the television series? It is more homage than rote information. For example , nowhere in the television series is the Clock King called "Morris Tetch" , nor is he ever associated with "Jervis Tetch"/"The Mad Hatter". If someone creates a full article on the comic book adaptation , all well and good , but it otherwise blurs lines. 75.104.175.97 (talk) 23:30, 21 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Agree. Also many names were not in use/never used on the series. Pennyworth did not become Alfred's last name in the comics (or anywhere) until 1969. The Commissioner was never referred to by any first name in the series. Probably many others. Sir Rhosis (talk) 22:19, 20 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
