Dispute over how a song's title should be shown

OK. I've seen this go back and forth at least four times now on whether to include the subtitle of the number-one song on the January 19, 2019 chart. It is clearly shown as "Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)" on the Hot 100 chart itself, and the article should reflect what is stated in the source(s). The Wikipedia article for the song shows the title without the subtitle, but also includes the subtitle in the lead prose. I have no preference in the matter, but we need to establish consensus on what should be shown, or I could be taking this to admin. MPFitz1968 (talk) 07:13, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Thats a Good piont, but why is it only "Sunflower" on the list of Billboard Hot 100 top ten singles of 2018 & 2019 and why did No one care when it was still just "Sunflower" before it went #1 Kay gee 2019 (talk) 16:42, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

And if you want to bring in Billboard Credits why doesn't wikipedia pages about Billboard Hot 100 singles edit the songs with the correct fonts Kay gee 2019 (talk) 17:15, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

@Kay gee 2019: I'm thinking you meant case (as in lowercase or uppercase letters) where you said fonts, judging from your recent edits at several articles. Wikipedia guidelines can override how we show song titles, despite how Billboard or even an album or streaming service shows it, one of those being MOS:CAPS. Even if a title is showed in all caps on the chart, it doesn't necessarily mean we have to show it like that in Wikipedia. Even certain uses of punctuation, like with "Uptown Funk" (which has an exclamation point at the end in its stylization), can be removed when shown in Wikipedia. What's of concern here is a subtitle (which totals 36 characters from what I've seen in the edit history) and whether to include it. As I said, I have no preference, even though Billboard clearly includes it. Same deal with "I Don't Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker)", whose title has also been trimmed recently by editors (removing the subtitle), like at List of Billboard Hot 100 top-ten singles in 2016. While I have no preference, following how it's listed on the chart (not the stylization itself, but the wording) is preferred. MPFitz1968 (talk) 17:58, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

@T0mRiddlee: It wouldn't hurt to have a direct reference to the Hot 100 chart for each of the weeks, especially with the preview articles (from Gary Trust, released the day before Billboard updates the charts online) now requiring the Billboard Pro subscription to read them, after they're at least three months old. Number one single

The page has both versions of Old Town Road highlighted. I just checked the Billboard chart shouldn't the number one hit be the version with billy ray cyrus and not the original lil nas X solo version? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Capwalker (talk • contribs) 01:36, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

@Capwalker: Only the first week that the song was at #1 was credited solely to Lil Nas X, but thereafter the version featuring Billy Ray Cyrus was listed on the Hot 100, with that version earning the majority of the chart's points for the song. (May need someone who has subscription to Billboard Pro to verify this correctly to see the preview articles written by Gary Trust on both April 8 and 15, 2019 ... [1][2]).
