Is there confusion about this article's policy?
editIn the predominantly English-speaking world, (and this is English wikipedia) the predominant daily use of the racial term 'black' is in the largest English-speaking country, the United State - where the one drop rule means that anybody with any identifiable 'black' ancestry has historically been assigned into the social group 'black' - no matter how many 'white' ancestors they have. In Brazil, there operates an opposite rule in which 'black' people are said to have no identifiable 'white' or 'mixed' ancestry - irrespective of how ridiculous and illogical such a claim might be, given the insistence with which many claim it is an 'integrated' society. The reality, in both societies is that very few people will be 'white' or 'black'. Therefore, it makes sense for editors to be critical, or wary, of myths of racial 'purity'.Ackees (talk) 15:01, 30 March 2014 (UTC)
