Yet another politically-motivated title. There is not a single mention of Ireland in this list. It would much more accurately be termed a 'Great Britain' list. But why engage in accuracy when you can make some British jingoistic claim over Ireland and the Irish. This sort of thing discredits Wikipedia. 109.77.98.167 (talk) 06:37, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I oppose a change to this title. It has existed 3 years, no need to remove it simply because someone like yourself thinks the British Isles is somehow politically motivated, its like saying the Irish sea is "politically motivated". The British Isles is a geographical term still used often and this is a geographical article. BritishWatcher (talk) 08:34, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I chose the title on the grounds that "British Isles" is the most commonly used name for those lumps of rock north of France. Nothing to do with politics. perhaps you could have asked me before accusing me of jingoism, a political trope I happen to loathe. Totnesmartin (talk) 09:14, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

It has been suggested that the use of the phrase British Isles in this article should be deleted. The use of this term in this article is being discussed at WT:BISE#List of British Isles rockpool life. If you would like to contribute to the debate please do so.
