List excludes a considerable number of high net worth Canadians
The richest Canadian is Sir Li Ka-shing (US$34 Billion), but he's not on the list. This is supposed to be a list of Canadians by net worth, given that Sir Li is a Canadian, he should be included. Going through a list of HK billionaires about half are Canadians, such as Pansy Ho, so she should be included on this list too, or if this is to be a list of Canadian residents and not a list of Canadians, then the article should be moved to "List of Canadian residents by net worth" and the current title is incorrect. --184.69.132.46 (talk) 23:54, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
- Absolutely agreed. Hong Kong people just love Canada for some reasons, despite the climate is much colder than their motherland. Most of Hong Kong’s richest people have gained Canadian citizenships a long time ago, I reckon all of them should be included in this list as they are also legally Canadians. 2001:8003:862E:1200:C842:5B54:FBE9:DD18 (talk) 06:01, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
The richest Canadian is Elon Musk, valued at $111.3 billion dollars. Musk is a Canadian citizen since birth (due to Canadian Nationality Law), due to the fact that his mother was born (and raised) in Canada (Saskatchewan). He also attended university in Canada.

- Absolutely agree about the missing entries. Where is the Desmarais family (as per, e.g. the Wall Street Journal, "Canadian Business Titan Paul Desmarais Dies at 86" https://blogs.wsj.com/canadarealtime/2013/10/09/canadian-business-titan-paul-desmarais-dies-at-86/ which asses his net worth at $4.5 billion (USD?). This is a particularly striking omission because, as the WSJ notes, he was not only one of the wealthiest, but also "one of Canada’s most powerful ...businessmen". alacarte (talk) 14:02, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- The omission of certain individuals has been addressed in the section prior to the list (where it says,
Several Canadian individuals/families that hold multiple citizenships have a net worth exceeding C$1 billion, although are not listed as Canadians by the aforementioned publications
). Keep in mind, we don't make our own rankings/listings on Wikipedia (that would be WP:OR). The listing you see in this article (and all other net worth listings ideally) are reflections of what is stated in reliable sources (Wikipedia being a reflection of what is published by them).
- The omission of certain individuals has been addressed in the section prior to the list (where it says,
- In saying that, Paul Desmarais passed away in 2013, and for whatever reason, members of the Desmarais family have not been listed in Forbes Top 2000 since than (whether it be split assets, etc.). This is sort of a question you need to ask Forbes tbh. Leventio (talk) 15:40, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
