State forest offices too far away?

If State Forest State Park is the only state forest in Colorado and exists only in Jackson and Larimer counties, could somebody explain why there's a state forestry office down in Golden at Colorado State University as you can see below? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 09:07, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

 
Or for that matter, explain why there are state forestry districts anywhere else within the state?
