Sheryl Sandberg
editThis article will now need updating, as Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook fame has now been the latest Desert Island Castaway. Vorbee (talk) 16:52, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
Indarjit Singh
editDid Indarjit Singh really choose the Bible for the chosen book? I thought that all castaways were given the Bible along with the works of Shakespeare. Vorbee (talk) 17:33, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
This list needs updating
editAs of October 10, 2017, this list needs updating - the composer James MacMillan was the latest castaway at the time of typing (October 10 2017). Vorbee (talk) 19:23, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- I see that he is now in the list, so the last comment can now be ignored. Vorbee (talk) 18:28, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Further updating needed
editIt is now 3 November 2017, some days after Kay Mellor was the castaway, but her entry is not in their yet. Vorbee (talk) 08:50, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
Her book was "Jayne Eyre" and her luxury was pens (or possibly coloured crayons) and paper. Vorbee (talk) 16:49, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
Bruno Tonioli
editThis list can now have Bruno Tonioli added to it. He took a cellar of champagne for his luxury and a copy of Gabriel Garcia Marquez' One Hundred Years of Solitude for his book. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vorbee (talk • contribs) 16:25, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
This list needs updating again
editThis list can now be updated to include Carlos Frenk. He took for his book a copy of the complete works of Borges and for his luxury he took a telescope. Vorbee (talk) 15:49, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
John Motson
editThis list says that John Motson took running shoes for his little luxury, but I thought that he took paper tissues. Vorbee (talk) 16:47, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
2019
editThis list can now add "2019", as there have been some programmes broadcast in 2019. Vorbee (talk) 09:05, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Tim Waterstone
editThis list can now be updated to include Sir Tim Waterstone. For his book he took the Oxford Book of English Verse, and for his luxury he took a photograph of his wife Rosie. Vorbee (talk) 17:08, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
New series
editThis programme will be starting a new series on September 22 2019, so will soon need updating again. Vorbee (talk) 15:45, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
Tape recorder
editThe list gives Thom Yorke's luxury as a recording studio, but I thought it more modest than that - I thought it was a tape recorder. Vorbee (talk) 08:57, 24 September 2019 (UTC) I have now heard the repeat of the programme, and hear that he did say, "Ideally, I would like a recording studio" and Lauren Laverne said "The recording studio is yours". Vorbee (talk) 17:48, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
New list page for 2022 onwards
edit2021 is nearly at an end and this list page has lasted since 2011. That is 10 years. All the other Desert Island Discs list pages have spanned a period of 9 years. There should be a new list page for castaways for 2022 onwards but I do not know how to arrange this. I would be grateful if someone more experienced on Wikipedia could undertake this task.
