why is the cowgirl dora dvd shown as a 2007 release
editit was released in 2003 along with the vhs counterpart — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dorarocks2003 (talk • contribs) 15:34, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
- The cited date of 1 January 2003 existed and then was changed to September 2, 2003. The change was made by 66.65.97.10 yesterday. This means that a cited "release date" was changed to a uncited different date, without any explanation or inline citation. This particular entry seems to be a problem for 66.65.97.10, as the removal of this entry and alteration of the date have occurred for many years, according the the 'Edit History'. Indeed, I note that the "Cowgirl Dora" entry has a discussion thread which keeps on getting written and rewritten [Note: It previously has had substantive discussion about the continued removal of this entry and repetative unexplained date changes]. I have proposed a solution to this current problem. PROPOSED SOLUTION: Re-adding the original date, but also keeping the other new uncited date, with a 'citation needed' marker to prompt a justification. What do people think of this solution? Let's discuss it!

- There has been a lot of debate about the VHS release date for "Cowgirl Dora". These days, I release that it is difficult to find a reliable source for the 'release date' of such an antique technology. The current date on this 'Wiki page' is "October 7, 2003", however, that is only from "Dora Fandom" site and this reference site data is unsourced. The ASIN references Amazon page now no longer has a 'release date' specified. Therefore, the supporting references are vague at best for this statistic. I am hoping that someone might be able to provide a suitable and more reliable reference resource.

VHS Release Date for "Wish on a Star"
editNOW RESOLVED: An un-cited date of June 5, 2001, added by 66.65.97.10, exists for the VHS title of "Wish on a Star". It is not apparent where this information came from. It extensively means that a cited "release date" exists without any referencing explanation. I am aware of the difficulty in getting internet references for this type of 'dated technology' information. A previous proposed solution was to add add a 'citation needed' marker to prompt a justification from 66.65.97.10. What do people think of this solution? (Note: Yes, that also means you 66.65.97.10) Let's discuss it! SMargan (talk) 12:54, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- RESOLUTION: A reference was found, in the form of a Amazon distributor page, so that an inline citation could be included to verify the date of the VHS release entitled "Wish on a Star". Therefore, the release date was confirmed as June 5, 2001[1]. This will hopefully end the continuing controversy of this particular entry in the VHS release table.

Episode List for "Dora's Ballet Adventures" DVD
editThe episode list for Dora's Ballet Adventure" needs checking. I do not know if the episode list for the region 1 DVD is correct. Indeed, the episode quoted "Dora's Dance Show", is not apparently listed as an episode in the Wikipedia's full list of Dora episodes. Is "Dora's Dance Show" an alternative title for "Dora's Ballet Adventures"? The 'region 1' and 'region 4' episode lists would be identical if that was the case. Does someone know the answer to this? Release Date of "Dora's Pirate Adventure" DVD
editThe source I have given for the DVD [2] clearly shows that the release date for the "Dora's Pirate Adventure" DVD in region 1 was January 27, 2003. Whereas, there is some opinion that the release date was January 27, 2004. I have corrected it once, but it was changed back (User: 66.65.97.10). I am reluctant to reverse the change to match the only reference given for this date, just in case the person reverting my own change knows something I do not, but has not or cannot reference their assertion. My own source could just be wrong. Since, my source is only Amazon, I am hoping to get more confirmation before changing it back. Can anyone shed some light or provide an addition reference for this contested release date information. SMargan (talk) 08:03, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

DVD Title - "Dance to the Rescue" or "Dora's Dance to the Rescue"
editThe name of this DVD may be a source of contention. This is because when I changed it the first time from "Dora's Dance to the Rescue" to "Dance to the Rescue" it was changed back. I have started this discussion thread up to debate this issue, if such debate is still needed. Please let's work together to make this page up-to-date error-free and a fantastic resource! This includes you 66.65.97.10 talk, as I know you may have strong views on this.
MY STANCE: I have double referenced the title of "Dance to the Rescue", with both Region 1 [1] & Region 4 ([2]) references, to evidence why I believe the title is "Dance to the Rescue", not "Dora's Dance to the Rescue". If you follow both of those reference there is a picture of the case cover in each. This backs-up the text title provided by this Amazone page, which is identical. To my mind, they show clearly that the title of this Dora DVD is simply "Dance to the Rescue", even though the feature leading episode on this 4 episode DVD is "Dora's Dance to the Rescue". It's not usual for the DVD title to deviate from the main feature episode title, sometimes significantly. Therefore, there is nothing unusual about the DVD's title "Dance to the Rescue", being different from one of the 4 episodes in the DVD, i.e. "Dora's Dance to the Rescue. What are other people's views? SMargan (talk) 07:58, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

"Inline References" Warning Alert Message
editAt the top of this "Dora the Explorer" home media page there is a warning that this pages lacks inline citations, i.e. "The references in this article are unclear because of a lack of inline citations". This warning was issued in May (2017). The page originally had no inline citations. This year 187 on-line citations have been added, to date. I think this warning is out-of-date and need removal or revaluation. The procedure to remove it seems simple enough Help:Maintenance_template_removal#removal (see "Removal"). Does anyone have any objection to me attempting to remove this warning alert message from the page?

- REMOVAL IMMINENT - I worked out how I am going to remove the old and out-of-date "No Footnotes" warning! If no one objects in this Wiki Talk section by the end of today, I will remove it.
- COMPLETED - This change was made to the page today! I hope it was not too controversial.
Page Name Change
editI am creating a talk thread on this because it is a major change. The "Dora the Explorer" home media page List_of_Dora_the_Explorer_home_video_releases is called "Home Video Release". This was an old title, from before the DVD tables were added. Entries of DVD release titles now make up a majority of the page. I am going to change the pages name to "Home Media Releases", i.e. "List_of_Dora_the_Explorer_home_media_releases". Does anyone have any objection to this? Let's discuss this!

- CHANGE IMMINENT - I have worked out how change the name of the List of Dora the Explorer home video releases page, i.e. from "Home Video" to "Home Media". I will be making the change tomorrow night, if I hear no objections in this 'Wiki Talk' section.
- I am just about to change the name of this page! If anyone has any objections then now is the time to voice them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SMargan (talk • contribs) 08:39, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
