editA worthy addition. However, I wonder if the footnote "List of US television series - Many US Television series are filmed in Canada" is a) relevant or b) entirely true. Other than "Queer as Folk" (US) and "The X-Files" (no longer on air), I can't think of any regular US series that are filmed in Canada. Is "many" really the right word. Moreover, even if there are "many" that are filmed in Canada (and please enlighten me if I'm wrong), is this relevant enough to put here? The series are still US series despite their filming location.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Moncrief (talk • contribs) 09:41, 28 October 2003 (UTC)
- Yeah, probably "several" better than many Poor Yorick—Preceding undated comment added at 09:48, 28 October 2003 (UTC)
Should we do away with "Animated" and "Talk" as main categories and move the shows listed under them to an "Animated" or "Talk" subcategory of their new main category? - Rdash 05:22, Feb 13, 2004 (UTC)

Should Undergrads and The Oblongs be on this list? As far as I know they are both Canadian made (Teletoon). IMDB lists them both as "Country: USA / Canada" - sik0fewl 23:49, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- Add them. Clone High falls into the same boat, and it's listed. If I'm not mistaken, the creator of Undergrads had won a Teletoon contest which got him the series. - Rdash 10:43, Feb 25, 2004 (UTC)
- The Oblongs is not, and never has been, a Canadian production. Clone High and Undergrads are produced by a Canadian animation company, but The Oblongs is not. Bearcat 21:11, 7 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Should the list format be changed to an alphabetical one like the British and American lists? - Rdash 10:43, Feb 25, 2004 (UTC)
I think List of Quebec television series should be merged into this article. WhisperToMe 03:13, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- This is offensive, discriminatory, colonialist. What a glowing example of disrespect and utter incomprehension. Merging Television of Canada into Television of the U.S. would be almost as prepostrous and ludicrous. The article shall remain. --Liberlogos 03:42, 2 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- But Quebec IS a part of Canada =\ WhisperToMe 06:50, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- See, Liberlogos, you can't deny that Quebec IS a part of Canada. If you must, you can make a "List of English-language Canadian television series" and a "List of French-language Canadian television series" or something along those lines. But it must be made clear that Quebec is a part of Canada. WhisperToMe 06:54, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
The page hasn't approached the 32KB limit yet, so the page need not be split yet. WhisperToMe 06:59, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- I am a hardcore separatist and I think we owe it to the truth to have Quebec tv series included in List of Canadian television series. This is an encyclopedia and decisions must be rational and reflect the reality. I totally disagree with a complete merge of the two articles however. In my opinion, the most intelligent way is to this:
- Have List of Canadian television series be broken down into provinces (the way it is right now), but have a Main article List of $province$ series under the heading.
- Include some of the most known shows produced in the province and have the whole list of all tv shows ever produced in the province in the main article.
Eventually, the list will get quite long and it will be more readable like that. The separation between English provinces and Quebec is also not accurate. Although culturally speaking it makes a lot of sense (indeed, Quebec has its own national culture), the facts are that some English language shows are produced in Montreal, Quebec, either for Quebec and the rest of Canada or for Quebec's English-speaking minority (CBC newscasts for exemple).
- How about that? -- Mathieugp 15:04, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
After it approaches 32K, I think that the article should be split by language. Then when either one gets too "full", divide them by province.
What should I rename the sections to? Should I rename them English-language and French-language?
The only reason both series are in the same article is because the combined data hasn't exceeded 32K. WhisperToMe 18:59, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Well, the English language / French language division is quite artificial. I think we ought to stick to provinces and territories and not mix it with a language divide. I think the names of the shows will make it clear what is in French and what is in English. Evidently, the overwhelming majority of French language shows will be in Quebec.
- I think it is sound to created articles for provinces in preparation of "growth". An empty List of Albertan television series might be just what is needed to catch the attention of someone who knows about tv shows produced in this province.
- For a division by language, we can create another list, for example List of French language television series. This one could be alphabetically sorted and specifify the city/region/country it was produced in. This would make for better categorization I think. -- Mathieugp 15:09, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Also, the fact that English language shows are alphabetical and French language shows aren't doesn't make much sense. They should all be alphabetical. -- Mathieugp 15:12, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Same's with the USA w/ Puerto Rico list. I didn't re-organize the Puerto Rican list when I ported it over. WhisperToMe 20:18, 16 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Question: Is this list of current showings only or also off air? I'm not very familar with Canada's Films, but I do know one... the Sunday Night Sex Show With Sue Johansen. Very popular in the US and Canada, but it is now off the air (I think). It was a Talk/Education type show. Alicein1derland (talk) 06:41, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
The Tree House
editAnybody remember that 1970's - 1980's little show. A guy played a guitar & had 2 puppets as his friends. The puppets at mail time would sing "Letters, we get letters, we get lots & lots of letters". GoodDay (talk) 01:14, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
years of broadcast

Table format
editI see sections A and B have been formatted with tables. Now, I'm not for nor against it. But why leave the rest unformatted? It's highly redundant. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 01:19, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
