Origin of figures

If you look hard enough in set of spreadsheets in the single cite, you can find population sizes for the various districts but where does the area data come from? --Chuunen Baka (talkcontribs) 13:31, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I can see various district area data in the sources and non-overlapping population data. It remains entirely unclear where the density figures come from. --Chuunen Baka (talkcontribs) 09:48, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have added a brief explanation which I hope makes the source of data clear.--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 12:28, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, much better now. Chuunen Baka (talkcontribs) 17:31, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have updated these figures to be those calculated and published in our ad-hoc table in July 2015. Again in terms or referencing they need updating. I can see that it has been explained how they are calculated and referenced accordingly. The standard area measurement file now needs to be 2014, not 2011. You can also link directly to the file if you feel it is appropriate to do so - the link is: https://geoportal.statistics.gov.uk/Docs/Latest%20Products/Standard_area_measurement_(SAM)_for_2014_local_authority_districts.zip The population reference will need updating to mid-2014 figures or alternatively we could source the ad-hoc table, which is: http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/about-ons/business-transparency/freedom-of-information/what-can-i-request/published-ad-hoc-data/pop/july-2015/uk-population-density-2014.xls Many thanks Greensl7 (talk) 08:57, 22 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
