Merger proposal

edit

I propose that List of English football transfers winter 2013 be merged into List of English football transfers winter 2012–13. The former contains some information that is not present in this article, but this article follows the correct naming convention (and also has many more transfers) Pelotastalk|contribs 08:15, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Delete – I don't think a merger is necessary, just that the article List of English football transfers winter 2013 is unnecessary. The 2012–13 article follows the format of previous articles for this particular transfer window in listing the transfers occurring between the end of the summer window and the beginning of the January window, as well as using the reference format of using BBC transfer lists as main references, with those not listed on the BBC given specific references. The only information contained in the List of English football transfers winter 2013 article that's not in the 2012–13 article is League One and League Two transfers, which are left out in the other transfer articles of this kind. Not sure why the 2013 article exists and I vote in favour of it being deleted. — Limabeans 12:29, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Merger follow-up

edit

I agree, this article isn't necessary, but this one has many more transfers, so if the previous article be updated with current info, then we should close this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JLSDK05 (talkcontribs) 03:23, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sources

edit

This page may have more transfers shown, but this compared to List of English football transfers winter 2013 is lack of sources. The List of English football transfers winter 2013 page is more sourced and each transfer has it's own source. Skyblueshaun 12:04, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think you're mistaken, unless you have a problem with the way this page is set up, using the BBC transfers pages (see the links listed immediately under the References headings) as main sources and then individual sources for those not listed on the BBC. That's the reason many of the transfers don't have footnote references after each one. — Limabeans 12:16, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
