Significant issues with this list that need to be addressed
editFirst off there is the issue with the list attempting to be an exhaustive list of all saints who visited Europe. I would not have an issue if the list were confined to those who were born in Europe, but that's not what this does. As it is it crosses the boundary into cruft. Also, the source documentation for each name is significantly lacking. Given as there exist other lists that serve similar purposes we don't have a need for this one. Retarget to Lists of European saints
editThere are far too many saints to include here, and the existing lists are EXTREMELY BAD, containing many entries that are unsourced redlinks or fail verification. I propose blowing this up by changing it to Lists of European saints and linking to per-country lists. power~enwiki (π, ν) 01:33, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- If you are suggesting creating a list of lists, that seems reasonable. I would also try to establish some kind of inclusion criteria covering things like satisfying WP:V and figuring out whose saints are going to be included. Currently it is mostly Roman Catholic. But I do see some Eastern Orthodox in there as well. Saints, assuming we are talking about generally recognized ones, not those canonized by the First Independent Catholic Church of Dumptruck County Alabama, have long been treated as presumptively notable. But WP:V still applies. So if we don't have any sources that at least confirm their existence and some basic biographical material then their inclusion would be problematic. -Ad Orientem (talk) 15:50, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

- I agree it should specify who we are including. I think it'd be worth splitting into centuries, making it a table, and specify which denomination(s) venerates them. TonyBallioni (talk) 18:40, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
