FC American title conflicts
I need to find out which of these games have not been released on the FC so that I can remove them from this list... WhisperToMe 20:49, 25 Jan 2004 (UTC)
I also see games on here that were released on the FC but are listed under their Americian titles and their Japanese titles... when I have time I might go through and change/remove them. Y0u (talk) 20:23, 12 March 2005 (UTC)
Chronological List
At this time, I have completed editing the Chronological list of Famicom games, which includes not only cartridges, but Famicom Disk System games as well. Due to the way I went about editing that list, it contains many corrections that I failed to make in this list. I did however manage to make corrections to the Famicom Disk System game list. At the moment, the Chronological List is more accurate than this list. Plotor 17:58, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Having two lists is going to cause problems
Ok I have been fixing some errors in this article, and didn't realize that there was a Chronological list of Famicom games till now. This made me realize that the information on both pages will probably conflict with each other as people change one, but don't change the other. Anyone have suggestions on how to deal with this? - Akadewboy 07:49, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
New title in 2007
Showing Titles in Japanese Text also
Hello all you Famicom fans, I wanted to get your opinion on if you think this page would be better if the Japanese text were added as a Alternate title column, so the games are simpler to verify the Romaji names, and check for miss spellings as well as provide a visual reference to how the title would appear on the Japanese items themselves. I paste a Example below, me and Guyinblack25 seem to be the only two battling it out over this issue on the N64 page, I believe it is most useful to have Japanese text, and any other alternate title listed next to the main Romaji or English title. As I mention on the Talk:List of Nintendo 64 games I have a book called "Family Computer 1983-1994" by the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography which lists all the games both in there English or Romaji and Japanese names. But he feels that Japanese titles aren't needed unless they are exclusive to Japan or different then the English titles, which would mean at times some Japanese text would be used and other times it wouldn't although the items themselves all have Japanese texts, and would be considered by me as Alternate title because they are written out differently and using different characters then the English ones. Please come to the N64 talk page and give your opinion, as to if you think Japanese text is useful for identifying and looking them up, or if you only think some of them should be used, or none at all. This is just a sample and uses the N64 titles, but could be easily changed to include more or less the same Alternate titles and such.

List reconstruction
I am reconstructing the list in a smart way to coincide with the other two NES lists — List of NES games and List of Famicom Disk System games. The list is being taken from the release date information on GameFAQs, which is the only place I know where all one-stop Famicom game information is that is also verifiable.
Information in the newly reconstructed list will include the main release title, the official English title if applicable and also released in North America or Europe (any otherwise rough translation would not be verifiable), full release date, developer, and publisher. The list will also be sortable. MuZemike (talk) 01:46, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Alternate titles, and columns in Lists of articles
I'd like to invite anyone contributing to this list to take part in a discussion we are currently having on the Talk:List of Nintendo 64 games#Removal of Alternate Titles and Number of Players where we are discussing the use of keeping alternate titles in the "List of...games" some have suggested that they take up too much space and that other columns could seem to be "useful only to fans", and other things that have been mentioned that, and other 'List of' talk pages. I think the alternate titles may be better as
Wikipedia Main Title | Year | Developer/Publisher | Regions released | Number of Players |
---|---|---|---|---|
1080° Snowboarding | 1998 | Nintendo/Nintendo | JP, NA, PAL | 1-4 |
64: Tenshi no Yakusoku | 1999 | Altron/Altron | JP | 1 |
AeroFighters Assault |
1997 | Paradigm Entertainment/Video System | JP, NA, PAL | 1-4 |
Michael Owen's WLS 2000 RTL World League Soccer 2000GER Telefoot Soccer 2000FRA |
2000 | Silicon Dreams/THQ and SouthPeak Games | NA, PAL | 1-4 |
Please come and give your opinion, and hopefully keep these type of concerns from arising again and again at each "List of" pages. Floppydog66 (talk) 21:09, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Famicom Software Catalog Numbers?
A wish-list item: I'm shopping for Famicom games on eBay and finding that many sellers do not know the names of the games in their listings, but a picture of the cart is included. I can't read Japanese either, but based on the catalog number printed on the front label, I should be able to cross-reference it with this list and determine what game I'm looking at. 98.117.120.42 (talk) 20:42, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
A little Japanese lesson
Hello folks, for those of you that are going to be making edits to this page, keep in mind that this is a list of Famicom games, and as such, lists romaji spellings of the Japanese characters in each game's title. When making edits to these titles, it is important to know a little bit about Japanese before you go ahead and change things around. The titles to 3 games were changed recently, and the changes made are incorrect. These games are:
Aa Yakyū Jinsei Icchokusen
Akagawa Jirou no Yūrei Ressha
Pro Yakyū Family Stadium '89 Kaimakuhen
You may notice that the way I have written these titles includes the character ū, which is a u with a macron over it. When we write Japanese words using vowels with macrons over them, it is called the Hepburn romanization system. This macron indicates that the sound is a long vowel (in this case, that there is a u following the u with a macron over it). If you remove this macron, you are effectively saying that there is no long vowel sound, and you have therefore actually changed the word completely, making it either a different word or something that is not a word in the Japanese language at all.
Please, do not change things like this without knowing what it is you are changing first. I am going to change them back now.
EDIT: Better yet, I will simply write the long vowel out completely.
