List of Formula One engine constructors → List of Formula One engine manufacturers – Per WP:COMMONNAME, "engine manufacturer" is by far the more common name - the phrase "Formula One engine constructor" gets me a sum total of five Google-hits, compared to "Formula One engine supplier" on >13,000 ghits, and "Formula One engine manufacturer" on >23,000 ghits. I know we need to be wary of ghits as a mechanism, but when the results are so conclusive? BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 10:31, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support - "Formula One engine manufacturer" is well established as the WP:COMMONNAME. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 10:43, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support per wp:commonname and the discusion over at Talk:List_of_Formula_One_constructors—blindlynx (talk) 13:55, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support as above.
5225C (talk • contributions) 00:46, 24 April 2021 (UTC) - Support. While the sporting regulations ("The constructor of an engine or rolling chassis is the person (including any corporate or unincorporated body) which owns the intellectual property rights to such engine or chassis. The make of an engine or chassis is the name attributed to it by its constructor.") and sources like this have referred to them as engine constructors, the above shows that "engine manufacturer" is much more common. - Support you know the article title doesn't follow commonname when the sixth result on Google is Wikipedia:Requested moves/Current discussions.
SSSB (talk) 14:41, 24 April 2021 (UTC) - Support as per arguments above. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:04, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
Offenhauser at the 1959 USGP
editOffenhauser raced a single race in Formula one that was not the Indy 500. Rodger Ward drove a Kurtis Kraft-Offenhauser at the 1959 United States Grand Prix. Shouldn't Offenhauser be thusly moved out of the "Indianapolis 500 only" Section? It is also Kurtis Kraft's only non Indy 500 entry, and it is not in the "Indianapolis 500 only" section of the constructors' page. Source: [1] 72.17.89.211 (talk) 12:18, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
