JuJube,
Matt Frewer was only in one episode of TNG yet he rated making the "Star Trek Connection" list. Clyde Kusatsu was in three TNG episodes as a recurring character, but you removed him. Do you mean that this list is not for people who were only random guests on Gargoyles? Salli Richardson herself guest starred in an episode of DS9. Why did you remove her? I see from the edit history that I'm not the first person to notice that there were a few omissions from this list. As far as I can tell from imdb the 6 actors I added make the list exhaustive. Why not just leave them? Wikipedia is not your private possession. If you get carried away undoing legitimate contributions it discourages public participation.
If nobody besides JuJube objects here I will undo the undo in a few days. Juicyjack (talk) 23:03, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
- Are you committing yourself to edit warring here? If so, I will have to bring in an admin for further comment. In any case, I believe the "Star Trek connection" section is for people who the public connects with Star Trek. Random guest appearances don't count towards this. I don't believe non-fans connect Frewer, Kusatsu or Richardson with "Star Trek" in any meaningful way. JuJube (talk) 02:21, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
No edit war is necessary. That's why I raised the issue in talk before undoing your change. Please save the knee-jerk undo for vandalism. The changes I made were not inaccurate or otherwise blatantly unacceptable. Is it not proper etiquette to discuss before undoing such contributions? As I pointed out, Frewer (and Sheppard, Warner, and Winfield for that matter) were already on the list despite not being regular cast members on Trek. One nice thing about having a complete list is that it doesn't rely on any subjective assessment of how famous who is for what. Besides, I honestly think most who actually care enough to read this section would be especially interested in the connections they didn't already know about.
I propose a compromise. We could sort the list into two sections. One with the 9 who were regular cast members on some Trek incarnation, and one with the 11 that were only guests. It's not as if the complete list is particularly long or likely to grow soon.Juicyjack (talk) 04:44, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- I don't object to this compromise. JuJube (talk) 04:51, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
