One link per entry

edit

I propose that we should remove any wiki-links from each entry, other than the person's name - except, possibly where the person's name is a redlink. The other links are an unnecessary distraction and the topics will almost certainly be linked to from the person's article anyway. (Eg similar guidelines to what we do for WP:DAB pages - WP:DDD, MOS:DABENTRY.) Mitch Ames (talk) 13:23, 22 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

This seems a very strange edit considering that plenty of those you delinked (i.e. Stawell Gift) are completely meaningless to anyone who didn't already know what they were without that link, and that many of them lack existent articles for one to work around your delinking and get some context. Stawell Gift was definitely an unintentional error on my part. In retrospect, "one (blue) link per entry" is not really an improvement, although I still the think the original had way overlinked, but I've restored most of the links. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:13, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I'm almost surprised when I give feedback on an edit and people actually listen. The Drover's Wife (talk) 12:34, 1 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi! While I'm not a confident editor per se, nor have made a lot of contributions, this article to me appears as though it's of pretty poor quality. The lead for the article is nothing but a description of an interpretation of the term "Indigenous Australian," nothing really relevant to the actual article in my opinion. Not to mention that the fact that there are ~100 years listed with literally nothing written with them, making the article horrible to navigate and completely obscure. Half of the "firsts" are actual "firsts" (like, First Indigenous Australian to become a deacon), while the other are just historical facts (like the first translation of the New Testament into an Indigenous Australian language) with no relevance to an actual person. The relevance of the Infobox is also questionable, since it's again, not actually substantave for the article, but demographical facts about Aboriginal Australians (with murky/uncited facts, especially around religion). As a result of this and the general inconsistencies and poor format of this article, I'm re-including the cleanup tag. ItsPugle (talk) 00:46, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
