Info?
editWill this list include data, e.g. how many games they have played? Punkmorten 21:42, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes (he answered, six months later!) The Rambling Man 16:38, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Footnotes fixed
editThe footnotes/in-line citations weren't displaying as there was no reflist tag. I've fixed it now, although feel free to change the style or section order. --Jameboy 17:04, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, my bad. Stupid me. Thanks. The Rambling Man 17:05, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Should the first instance/all instances/no instances of each playing position be wikilinked? Not sure on the precedent for this for lists. --Jameboy 17:08, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- List of Aston Villa F.C. players doesn't bother but it doesn't get quite as detailed. I'm happy to do any of the above... The Rambling Man 17:17, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Positions
editShould the inconsistencies in descriptions be addressed? Some of them are caused by changes in terminology, I think. (centre half v central defender) Some by greater specificity (attributing a side to a full back or winger) --Dweller 11:17, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think it's good as it is, you're right it reflects the change in terminology throughout the years. At the very least the wikilinks all point to the right place. The Rambling Man 11:47, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
The fact he's included isn't necessarily a problem, more the fact that it's impossible to tell why he's been included. Also, I note the absence of the word "all" with regard to players who've appeared >100 times. Is this an oversight, or has... sorry... POV been used to select some and overlook others? --Dweller 11:21, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, so "all" needs to go there. Sharkey is in because he played for Northern Ireland while at the club. It is possible to determine why he's there, albeit difficult. He hasn't got over 100 appearances, he hasn't got a club record, he's not in the hall of fame, so, by elimination, he must be an international while at the club. Does that help? No POV here guvnor, move along... The Rambling Man 11:58, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sure you're gonna love this... two suggestions in an either/or/both/neither kinda way... categorise the players listed (tricky, as some will be listed for all 3 criteria), include caps (easier, but you'll probably need to list all those won in entire career, not just ITFC days, both or neither. I'm forestalling against inclusions of names by future editors... it's not good to have to guess why they've been included, defaulting to something that may be incorrect assumption. --Dweller 13:05, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, I'll either include a note or colour code the country or add a column. Something for me to think about... The Rambling Man 13:19, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Doesn't he hold a club record? lol --Dweller 14:26, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes he does, thanks. But we're not going there. The Rambling Man 15:12, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Kevin O'Callaghan
editKevin O'Callaghan is listed as English - he was a Republic of Ireland international (but was born in London!) - can someone correct the flag? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oleg mcnoleg (talk • contribs) 22:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Appearances/Goals Scored
editApps/Goals scored on this page do not tally with those shown on the records page - possibly as they come from different sources? The Apps/Goals scored here reflect (for the older players) stats from "The Men Who Made The Town" by John Eastwood & Tony Moyse with the exception that Ray Crawford is stated as having 228 goals (which i suspect is correct). Can't correlate with the records page at all. Oleg mcnoleg (talk) 23:23, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- The records correlate with the source I've used, the Breedon book. Soccerbase/Pride of Anglia/ITFC all disagree with each other. The records page is in need of updating. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:43, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Reggie Lambe
editShould Reggie Lambe be included in the list? He has been capped at international level whilst playing for the club, and thus meets one of the requirement's for inclusion, but hasn't played in a first-team game, which would bring up a sorting issue, as the list is sorted by debut. And he is also not even in the first-team squad. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:06, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hmmm. Interesting. Your facts are spot on, he's a Bermudan international with zero appearances. I think to be qualify for entry into "List of Ipswich Town F.C. players" he needs to have played for Ipswich Town. Which he currently hasn't. However, well worth keeping an eye on the situation. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:16, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just FYI I've now created an article for Reggie, notability assured despite being barely 17 and never having played for ITFC, he featured in a WC qualifier for Bermuda vs Cayman Islands. Awesome. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:45, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
What about Thomas Gaardsøe?!?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.218.136.162 (talk) 10:18, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
