editThese languages should be categorized more. For instance scripting languages are lumped in with other languages. Some scripting lanagues in java use the [Jakarta BSF compiler|http://jakarta.apache.org/bsf/] while others use their own BSF engine. I am not sure how to fix the article but it could be more organized.
Java FX Script
editI find that Java FX Script is too old for this list, because in the new realease is Java FX Script not anymore ordered. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.184.17.179 (talk) 09:35, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Oxygene
editHas anybody heard of this? The page it links to has notablity issues for being like an advertisment. Can we put this one down the bottom? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.10.111.38 (talk) 22:39, 25 April 2012 (UTC)
- Same thoughts here. Removed from "high profile" list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.6.95.121 (talk) 21:42, 7 May 2012 (UTC)
Discontinued projects
editI have added a comment to ibm php that it is discontinued, maybe we should introduce a section at the end for discontinued or abandoned projects. AlexLehm (talk) 13:01, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
Eiffel
editEiffel (in the form of SmartEiffel) has a JVM compile option AlexLehm (talk) 13:59, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
Lua
editThere seems to be an active and supported implementation of Lua for the JVM too. Maybe this should be included in the list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.113.76.209 (talk) 08:47, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- yea. I was wondering where there is no lua there. Seems like this is an old and stale article. 185.31.184.106 (talk) 19:42, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Remove Xtend?
editI think Xtend should be removed. It doesn't compile directly to bytecode and is instead transpiled to Java. Maowcraft (talk) 06:53, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
