Info on characters from the book Fang
editFor some odd reason there is info on some of the characters claiming to be from the most recent book Fang. However, one problem with that- Fang has not come out yet. I think that means that those comments need to be deleted as either they're made up or someone got a copy of the book before its actual release date. I will go ahead and delete them at this time. This will include the description of Dylan except for anything already revealed in the sneak preview of the book. KittyKat1001001 (talk) 07:58, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Grammatical errors
editThere are a whole lot of grammatical errors here. I'll try to fix most of them, but if anybody catches one, please edit it. 70.246.79.154 00:38, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
The Voice
editEm... does the Voice count as a character? Mmm122 (talk) 23:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I've read all the books and no I wouldn't say so. Although the Voice mention thing can be improved under the character Max. :)
- No the voice, as it turns out, is Jeb - speaking though Maximum. See the summery of the third book. ChyranandChloe (talk) 02:01, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- spoiler for fourth book* Actually, the Voice isn't Jeb, as per The Final Warning. CloudWind 70.162.133.122 (talk) 04:19, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually, Both of you are wrong. Not about the Voice being a character, but about Jeb being the Voice. In the 3rd book, when the Max's miniflock is trapped in the castle, Jeb said that he can be the Voice, but he wasn't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.103.102 (talk) 19:06, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
The voice should count as a character. Jeb isn't the voice. The voice is unknown. Personally, I think the voice is either Fang (because the Voice tells Max that nobody loves her more than [the voice]) or Dylan becuase the voice is suddenly pushing Max to be with Dylan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.237.97 (talk) 18:40, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
The voice, as said in nevermore is Angle — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.22.241.192 (talk) 22:18, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
Categorization?
editMaybe categorization's not the right word. Anyway, would it be better if maybe there were separate pages for the different groups (members of the flock, the School, etc.) that linked from the main character list? It would make the character list a little less convoluted.

- I agree. How do we propose this?—
- TechnoCat (talk) 01:13, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- I found this article, which says “Readers may tire of reading a page much longer than about 30 to 50 KB, which roughly corresponds to 6,000 to 10,000 words of readable prose.” and “One rule of thumb is to begin to split an article into smaller articles after the readable prose reaches 10 pages when printed.” This article is roughly 11,000 words and 18 pages (it was 20, but about 2 were just the contents, references, etc.) , so I think we should start splitting it.—
- TechnoCat (talk) 01:31, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- I made a new category, “Characters working for the School” ; I think we should start splitting now.—
- TechnoCat (talk) 05:56, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- This is a bad idea. The fact that this article has survived this long has been sheer luck or some use of WP:IAR. If this list were split, it would garner significant attention and would likely face PROD or AfD; as well as all of the split articles. Frankly, the page lacks reliable sources that verify the notability of the characters. Keep the article in its current state.--v/r - TP 23:22, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Err... Sounds a bit gay.
edit"In addition, it is heavily implied in book three that ter Borcht is in a romantic relationship with Jeb, although this has not been explicitly confirmed. In news surrounding coming books, it has been said that Jeb and ter Borcht will be living together, and starting a family." BOTH ARE GUYS. Wtf? --174.115.206.59 (talk) 00:18, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's vandalism. I've read the books and haven't found any hint of a relationship between Jeb and ter Borcht. Besides, if it is only some rumor and hasn't been officially announced, that would make it original research. Furthermore, James Patterson designed this series specifically for children, and this would be inappropriate to be in the books. Swiftink (talk) 17:46, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't think homosexuality in a kid's book is inappropriate. It's part of life. That aside, the rumor was unfounded. I checked the pages cited for that rumor against my own copies of the books, and the pages cited don't even exist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.111.114.161 (talk) 01:41, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
WTH? There's no proof that ter Borcht is dating Jeb and there is no mention or ter Borcht after the thrid book!!
Prior to the introduction of Hans Gunther-Hagen, a homosexual relationship between these two characters was a common slash pairing in Maximum Ride fanfiction. If you see this again, remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.247.135.80 (talk) 17:00, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Links, please? and book names
editIf you put "in the fifth book,(max), something happens," I will be angry. It should look like this: "In MAX: A Maximum Ride Novel, something happens."
Please link and italicize your book title, as well as not numbering it (just the title's fine, guys), I'd be very happy and less busy.Lissakw (talk) 00:30, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I just have to nitpick this: the title of Max: A Maximum Ride Novel is not in all caps; that is to say it's Max: A Maximum Ride Novel , not MAX: A Maximum Ride Novel [[1]] – TechnoCat (talk) 05:00, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- Then please explain to me why that's the title on the Wikipedia page and on the cover of the book. Lissakw (talk) 08:13, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
ALSO: ' '[ [MAX] ]' ' and other such things actually don't redirect. It has to look like: ' '[MAX: A Maximum Ride Novel|MAX] ]' ' to properly redirect for MAX, Fang, and Angel. Lissakw (talk) 07:05, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
Dylan
editIn the section about Dylan, it says, and I quote, "However, after countless failures whilst trying to gain Max's attention, he tries to commit suicide at the end of the book." Huh? Did I miss something? I do not remember that being in the book, but I do not have the greatest memory, so can someone please change this if it was indeed just some vandal who wrote that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hirkonris (talk • contribs) 15:40, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- I seem to vaguely remember Dylan trying (and failing) to commit suicide. I've put a hold on all of the Maximum Ride books, so when Fang gets in, I'll check and post back here.—
- TechnoCat (talk) 01:17, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry I took so long to get back to this. Some people just take too long to read one book. Anyway, Dylan does indeed try to commit suicide at the end of the last chapter (85) by injecting himself with an unknown substance.—
- TechnoCat (talk) 23:30, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Dylan did try to commit suicide at the end of Fang but, sadly, it failed.
Misplaced data that applies to the entire Flock
edit"Max and the rest of the Flock are claustrophobic because they were locked dog crates while at The School." was put into the section about Max; it should be moved to a section about the entire Flock, if possible. – TechnoCat (talk) 03:03, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Age...
editWhen did it say in the books Iggy is six months younger than Max? They don't even know they're exact ages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.90.121.172 (talk) 01:44, 30 December 2010 (UTC)
- Max (while narrating) says “I guess if I were more of a fembot, it would bother me that a blind guy six months younger than I am could cook better than I could.” in book 1, page 11, paragraph 6—
- TechnoCat (talk) 05:35, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- (In case you didn't figure that out, Max is referring to Iggy) —
- TechnoCat (talk) 23:59, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
Citations
editWhen you use the series' books as a reference, please cite only the specific book (preferably with page numbers) that a given fact is found in. Currently all the books are cited for facts found in specific books, which isn't particularly useful to anyone. Thanks. —tktktk 20:12, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
- I just killed them all. Almost nothing was where it belonged, and we would've had to start from scratch in any case. Lissakw (talk) 07:58, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
Does Dylan count as a Flock member?
editDylan is currently under “Other characters” . He stays with the Flock throughout Fang; does that make him a Flock member?— TechnoCat (talk) 05:55, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
Nope, for in the first eight chapters of Angel (on Patterson's website), Max states in chapter three that "Dylan is not part of my flock, no matter what he thinks or what he might tell you."
Sarahloveswolves (talk) 15:24, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
No way. Dylan isn't counted as part of the Flock. All members of the Flock (including Fang) have been cruelly experimented on. Dylan was brought up nicly, therefor, he doesn't count. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.237.97 (talk) 18:23, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- I do agree he isn't, but that last "reason" is actually just BS. Lissakw (talk) 08:15, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, Max said more or less the same thing in book 6 or 7. Not sure which one but she said something about Dylan not being a member of her flock because of something about the way they were brought up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.138.191.43 (talk) 15:56, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
Candidate for division
editAt 42 kb readable prose (almost 8,000 words), this article should probably be split by someone familiar with the topic.--Miniapolis (talk) 15:23, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Split is not appropriate. Article needs trimming to reduce excessive detail. Article also needs sourcing. SilkTork *Tea time 21:18, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Vandalism?
editIn Max's profile when talking about Dylan and Max, i came upon this phrase. "In Angel: A Maximum Ride Novel she and Dylan grow much closer and kiss a few times, confusing her feelings about Fang. Like a bawse. " Is this vandalism? 168.103.182.71 (talk) 01:31, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
"Like a bawse" is vandalism.155.247.135.80 (talk) 17:02, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Max?
editWhat happened to Max, isn't she a character? 168.103.182.71 (talk) 01:17, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
