Name of article
editIs there any reason why the name of this article is List of Miss America titleholders, as opposed to List of Miss America winners? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 19:48, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- Refer to the case of Vanessa Williams who won in 1984 but was pressured to resign. She was replaced by Suzette Charles who held the TITLE but did not actually WIN the pageant. Martindo (talk) 00:50, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

Notes column should be Notable in regard to the pageant
editDeath is notable on the individual page of the titleholder, not here, so I have cut all such info. Notable here means a first for the pageant, a future career or other fame, a family relationship with another winner, etc. Martindo (talk) 00:52, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
Gallery of Titleholders
editIt's appropriate to include these photos according to WP:Gallery: "A gallery section may be appropriate in some Wikipedia articles if a collection of images can illustrate aspects of a subject that cannot be easily or adequately described by text or individual images."
However, it seems to me that each image should ideally be inserted into a new column in the list. If that requires too much shrinkage of the photos, then IMO the gallery should be at the bottom of the page. Martindo (talk) 20:37, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
