Comment
editPlease note, the use of {{rail line}} on station articles is deprecated; please use the new {{NJT rail line}} instead. lensovet 18:03, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- An update: we can now use this template on all the rail commuter lines as well as the light rail lines and the Newark City Subway.
Station name links
editHello, we now have a new template for linking to stations, {{njt-sta}}! It means that now there is absolutely no need to type piped links into station articles! Check out its talk page for instructions. lensovet 22:53, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Reformat this list
editThis list should be reformatted. I recommend putting everything in alphabetical order, and using charts that include the lines and former railroads that used the stations, much like I tried to do with the SEPTA Regional Rail stations before somebody else beat me to that list. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 16:21, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- Done. Like the Metro-North station list, it needs work on the ADA station list, and a few other things, but I'm proud of what I've done. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 01:30, 5 August 2013 (UTC)

Update
editList has been updated, references added, more context introduced, active-proposed stations separated, & appropriate subsections introduced. Numbering is manual, but additions will be infrequent. Djflem (talk) 08:20, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
Name
editSince NJT runs both bus and train train service, should article name (New Jersey Transit train stations or New Jersey Transit rail stations) reflect that it is about rail stations and not bus stations, such as those shown in template? Djflem (talk) 08:25, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
New Milford station
edit@Mitchazenia: Why isn't New Milford included on the list of stations closed by NJT? Thanks.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 19:49, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not Mitch, but I think that's because New Milford station was closed before NJ Transit took over the PVL. The list appears to only include stations closed since NJ Transit took oevr operation in 1983. oknazevad (talk) 20:18, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- I have seen articles stating plans to close both New Milford and Fairmount Avenue at the same time. I suppose that New Milford could have closed before Fairmount, but I have seen no articles stating as such.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 20:51, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
- From my understanding it did, with New Milford closing shortly before NJT took over and Fairmount almost a year later. But I haven't been able to verify that as yet. I have to dig out my copy of Jone's book on the line, which is in a box somewhere. oknazevad (talk) 13:00, 22 January 2019 (UTC)
