Pre-FLC thoughts
editI was asked to take a look at this before WP:FLC nomination, so here are some thoughts (not much to say really, it's in good condition):
- "...began play..." sounds a little odd for the year of the foundation of the franchise.
- "had an advantage in signing young players" what was the nature of this advantage that a "few" teams had?
- "first draft" could link that? We have a 1936 NFL Draft article...
- Ah, you link it second time round...
- Ref 3 actually says "more commonly" rather than "widely known"... (picky!)
- Key could use col and row scopes (per MOS:DTT), and then you'd get your bold text for free.
- Consistency on use of periods in image captions, complete sentences only!
- On the flip side, for pure aesthetics, I'd be tempted to use
plainrowheaders
on the main table as the bold player names is unnecessary and a little distracting, particularly as most of them have wikilinks. - "Sports Illustrated" or "CNN Sports Illustrated" in the refs?
Otherwise it's a fine shout for FLC in my opinion. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:41, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
- Changed it to "founded" as suggested.
- Clarified this point further.
- I was going to say that I inadvertently linked it in its second possible usage, but I see you figured that out.
- Fixed.
- Made a change to reflect the wording of the source.
- Done.
- This should be done too.
- This is probably the biggest pain about doing the accessibility edits. Once you insert the plainrowheaders code, the entire column becomes left-aligned. You have to go and center everything manually, which is a timesink. It's done now, though, and the bold was ugly to me as well.
- The SI refs now have consistent formatting. Thanks again for taking the time to review the list. Giants2008 (Talk) 01:50, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
