Proposed merge from List of OWU presidents
editI'm proposing that we merge the list of OWU presidents into this list. It just seemed to make sense to me, and I saw that Cornell does this in List of Cornell University people. We would also be able to get rid of the weird lonely "Presidents" section in the OWU article. What do you think? — BryanD 23:26, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Comment. I think the article about the presidents is better on its own here. I agree that that currently it needs a lot of work and needs some text around it to improve the overall flow. Most of the presidents are not OWU alumni (the purpose of the OWU people article) and therefore, I don't think it is appropriate to merge them. BryanD, thanks for your message. I noticed your good edits. Why aren't you also part of the OWU project? Enduchus 11:03, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:OWUlogosmall.gif
editImage:OWUlogosmall.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 15:44, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Woodrow Clark not a Nobel Winner
editWoodrow Clark was a member of the IPCC. However, the 2007 Nobel Peace prize was not given collectively to IPCC members, but to the organization itself. [1]. It would be accurate to say he was one of (thousands) of members and contributors to the IPCC reports that led to the organization to win the Nobel Peace Prize. It would not be accurate to say he was a co-recipient. For instance, in 1997 the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the International Campaign to Ban Landmines and its founder Jody Williams and in 2001 when the UN and Kofi Annan were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Few would claim every member of those groups (or Doctors without Borders) had won the Nobel Prize, and if members were co-recipients then the heads of those organizations would not need to be made explicitly co-recipients.
