ONU President

edit

I have been bold and added the notable Presidents back into the ONU article on the Newington College page and hve removed the references to their terms of office from the List of Old Newingtonians as they clutter this list. I will endeavour to write articles on the red inked Presidents that appear notable. This may take a little while so I trust we can be patient about this. Check it out

edit

Just expanded this article on William Tasker a notable Newingtonian indeed. Don't suppose anyone can trace and upload a photo of him ? -Sticks66 22:23, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

And congrats by the way to whoever is maintaining this list. It's well ordered, with sections, many of the names are linked and lots of pics, all appearing in a similar size and captioned !! Best GPS alumni listing on WP, I reckon. -Sticks66 10:12, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you as I am happy to accept responsibility for the improvements made to this list over many years. I don't have an image of Tasker but I will try and add one. Castlemate (talk) 01:06, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Inaccuracy regarding Ian Diery

edit

I am almost certain that Ian Diery is not a “Former Vice-President Apple Inc” as claimed.

This statement states "the Company provided to Ian Diery, then Senior Vice President and President, Apple Pacific, a loan of ..” which suggests that Mr. Diery was VP of Apple’s Pacific operation. A Bloke Wandering (talk) 03:03, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

I think he might have been President of Apple Pacific and Senior Vice President of Apple Inc but I would defer to anyone who is better informed and has a good reference. This article might help. Castlemate (talk) 08:55, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Sydney Silk"

edit

As of today, there are two names listed in the Law section (A.B. Shand and David Wilson) that mention the term "Sydney Silk". I'm not an Aussie, so I don't know whether this is a common colloquialism or not. If it is a common term, please find a way to link it - or if it's not, please remove it. Cheers, PKT(alk) 23:26, 8 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I believe that "Silk" is the common term for KC/QC/SC throughout the British Commonwealth and is widely understood. Please see Queen's Counsel. Castlemate (talk) 08:21, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
