Minor characters page
editIn line with the proposal made here (and in various other places), I'm planning to merge all the existing articles on minor characters into one article, P. G. Wodehouse minor characters. I've looked at the style of this Minor Discworld characters list, and made a start on the Ukridge characters. I'd repoint any links from this main list to the appropriate entry, and fill in as many as I could manage. From what I hear though, redirects only work to the top of a page and can't be pointed to a section, so the existing articles would have to either point to the top of the list or be deleted...
My main problem is deciding who counts as a major character, and thus deserves their own page (these will also be linked in from the new page). Should this be based on how much is already written about them, how many appearances they make, or some other grounds?
My thoughts so far would be:
- Jeeves, Bertie, Aunt Dahlia, Aunt Agatha
- Bingo Little, Roderick Glossop
- Lord Emsworth; Gally? Rupert Baxter? Uncle Fred?
- Psmith; Mike?
- Ukridge
- Mr Mulliner, The Oldest Member??
Anyone else would be a minor char. and merged in. No idea on timescales here, welcome any suggestions, ideas, offers of help, abuse etc... JohnnyZen 17:27, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

- Yay she could be a candidate; would probably be good to have as many majors as are worth doing - having only done the Ukridge books, the page clearly going to be pretty big. Another idea (half suggested here) would be to have separate pages for minor Jeeves characters and minor Blandings characters, with the overlaps either inter-linked or, where possible, kept as majors (may be doable with Roderick Glossop, Daphne Winkworth; maybe Lord Tilbury too (not in Jeeves I don't think but in a few Blandings as well as several others)). There's also the questino of how minor a character has to be to be excluded from the page (but maybe left on this list). On a different note, I've been working on a list of places (combining some of the other stubby entries) - you can check it out here, and please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions on the associated talk page JohnnyZen 12:05, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
