Corrections in Vernon's v.Blog

edit

There's some correction to this article discussed in Vernon's v.Blog post on 1 Apr 2005 --sabre23t 13:58, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Focus only on car models and not the company

edit

I think we should clean up the article and focus only on the Proton models. As people may get confused with Proton (company)?

Biased viewpoint

edit

It is common knowledge that Proton cars have questionable quality and reliability. I have countless times posted additional info regarding Proton's various models which are based on fact and not assumptions, but somehow somebody (presumely from the Proton corporation) keep deleting them without even raising a debate on it. This is against the rules of wikipedia and against the very idea of wikipedia. Therefore, I have nominated this article as a biased article.

There is one thing I can agree with you. The writing is indeed bias in favor of Proton. The Proton Juara, for example, was described not selling well because it was "too modern for Malaysian tastes" when it's actually because of its poor body redesign, and the Proton Arena was described as having "sold well" in Australia "with no competition" when coupe utilities are common in Australia, and hence competition from other utes is to be expect. And having sold 1,200 Arenas in Australia is not something to brag about. - Two hundred percent 02:13, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
The offending edits can be traced back to User:Raptorclans' only contributions back in March 2006. It's not all ass kissing, but he was certainly intending to project a positive image of the cars, no matter how factually inaccurate his claims are. - Two hundred percent 02:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm doing POV tag cleanup. It seems to me that you editors likely have resolve the issues that caused the tag to be placed - in other words, there is a consensus. I'd suggest that if that is so, then you remove the tag. I won't do it, just a suggestion. Jjdon (talk) 19:37, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Back again - tag removed, replace and comment if warranted..Jjdon (talk) 18:07, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Not All That Biased

edit

It remains to be seen if the above comment about the edits in Proton being biased are truly so. For one thing the above user mentions that the statement whereby Proton Arena "has sold well and without competition" is biased. He believes so chiefly because it is believed that pickups are popular in Australia and the Arena would then undoubtedbly face still competition. This is a flawed argument. The Arena is rightly does not face competition in Australia simply because it is unlike most pickups, it is in fact a car-like pickup. And most wouldn't even begin calling it a truck. The number 1,200 is likewise also flawed, as the Proton factory itself has an entire parking lot filled with Arena's whick have already been ordered and are only waiting to be shipped to Australia.

It is difficult to to ascertain true facts about organizations, just like what I have said in the above may or may not be true. Whatever the case, Wikipedia is not a place for "what I think is true" therefore I take pleasure in saying. Just because some users believe that the Arena is not doing as well as claimed doesn't make it fact. And just because some users think that the Proton Juara is "too modern for Malaysian tastes" doesn't make it fact either.

If you want to write what "you think" go get a blog. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.208.207.104 (talkcontribs) 02:24, 21 June 2007 (UTC).Reply

Fine, if my last argument was bias and uncited, you have every reason to dispute it the same way I disputed the original changes made by Raptorclans. However, all this crap based on personal observation or unverified claims must go. This isn't a soapbox. Any statement for or against any brand of Proton cars are to be backed up by one or more third party sources. By the way, this reply isn't exclusively directed to you, 218.208.207.104. Writing a rant blog is not always worthwhile anyways. ;) - Two hundred percent 04:22, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fixed!

I recent refurbished this page by adding colour coding and stuff. I was initially planning to sync the "List of Volkswagen vehicles" page and this one, but after a while I decided to just create something slightly original. Hope everyone likes it. MjhdNfl (talk) 13:57, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
