Probably the best source for governors during the first 3 centuries AD is the list in G.W. Bowersock, Roman Arabia (orig. published 1983), which is based on Maurice Sartre, Trois etudes sur l'Arabie romaine et byzantine (1982). Meanwhile the prosopography for the years 180-235, Paul Leunissen, Konsuln und Konsulare in der Zeit von Commodus bis Severus Alexander (1989) is unaware of either work. Bowersock lists governors that Leunissen omits, & Leunissen has a few Bowersock lacks. A curious case of parallel works ignorant of each other. -- llywrch (talk) 07:19, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
