Story notes

First of all, I HATE that this is so vague and lacking in detail compared to many of the boys' comics. It's not a sexism thing (I FUCKING LOVE GIRLS COMICS!) but sadly a reflection on how few issues seem to have survived, and how poorly they're catalogued. Interestingly in histories and the like sources on boys' comics lean more towards particular strips with the publications often mentioned in passing, whereas studies of girls' comics seem to focus more on the comics as a whole and only briefly cover individual strips. Does mean I'm working from shit like Gifford, though.

Uncited stories taken from the older version of School Friend I'd love to hear more about: -

• "That Girl Patsy" (1963)
  • Is this related to Patsy Leland of "Patsy' Circus Days"?
• "Tracy Goes East" (1963)
  • Is this Tracy the Teenage Model?
• "Lost in the Wild West" (1964)
• "The Legend of Bell Mountain" (1964)
• "The Gay Princess" (1963)
• "Jill of Sunnyhead Stables" (1964)
• "Kim — Dog of Mystery"
• "Sindy" - everything I can find points to this only starting in June.

Titles from Gifford which I have questions about: -

• Judy of Juniper Creek + Judy Swims to Fame = same Judy?
• Legends of the Trolls = is this the same Troll doll strip which turned up in Princess Tina and company? Can't clearly tell from the few fragments I have.
• Penny's Strange Quest = Penny West story?
• Trudy and Trudy on Television = Same character?
• Susan of the Ice Show + Stars of the Circus = can't tell from what I have if that's meant to be the same Susan Webster or not; with ~5 years apart it could go either way.
• It's not 100% clear if Dilly Dreem was ever-present, though she's certainly been in every single issue I've checked. Anyone know?
