editI believe Kentucky is the national champions for 1950

- I looked it up and saw that Kentucky does officially claim the 1950 championship, even though it was only awarded by Sagarin, a poll which most college football fans wouldn't call authoritative. To be fair to everyone, I changed the table to list all national championships, regardless of the poll, as long as they are on the NCAA's web page (see the recent article edits for the link). I also added a place in the table to reflect if the championship is officially claimed by the university or not. I will check each school's media guide to see which ones they claim, but I will have to do that later. I hope this helps keep everything fair. Seancp 03:19, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
Bama's Football NC's
editJust a quick glance, no way that Bama should (or officially does) claim a football MNC for 1941. They didn't even win the SEC that season (MSU did). Of all the possible MNC polls, etc, only Houlgate awarded Bama the MNC.
- Welcome to the sadness of Alabama claimed football national titles. Yes, the university does officially claim that title. Yes, it is pathetic. That's why we list the selectors on this page. Real true college football fans understand the bogus claim to that title. Unfortunately, since the NCAA does not officially award a national title, we have to list it to be fair and unbiased. Hell, look at 1950. Kentucky officially claims that one and the only selector for it was Sagarin and he just awarded it to them about 5 years ago. Football NC's are mythical, hence Mythical National Championship.
While you are correct about 1941, your personal and biased opinions about Alabama's pre-AP poll NC's need to be left out of this article. Therefore, I have edited this article to include the selectors for Alabama for 1925, 26, and 30 that have graciously been included for other teams and listed as NAMED, whereas these same selectors chose Alabama and you neglected to list them and only indicated that Alabama CLAIMED these national championships. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CtrlAltieDel (talk • contribs) 13:10, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Ole Miss total
editSomeone put Ole Miss' total at 2, but I don't see any titles for them outside of football, which isn't supposed to count since it's not NCAA sanctioned. Football isn't being counted for anyone else, so I'm putting them back at zero. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.2.193.40 (talk) 01:42, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
LSU, 2003
editSomehow LSU was listed as the winner of the 2003 AP Mythical Title when in fact the AP had USC at #1 in its final poll. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.21.207.25 (talk) 12:08, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
