untitled
editdoes anyone know what the soul song that robert freeman has playing in his scenes sometimes? I can think of two eps, home alone after the boondocks theme, and thank you for not snitching when gin rummy and ed start up robert's car —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.195.5.222 (talk) 01:25, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Proposed split
editThe page that this text was copied from is getting too large, so splitting the characters sections off from The Boondocks (TV series)#Main characters and The Boondocks (TV series)#One-time characters seems like a good idea.
Please see discussion at Talk:The Boondocks (TV series)#Characters page. Thanks, Clicketyclack 10:46, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Voice actors
editCan anyone connect the voice actors with the characters of the show (besides the very few that are listed). That would be useful info. τßōиЄ2001 23:42, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Mergers?
editI think that all proposed Merges should happen, wouldn't that make the most sense? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.110.239.150 (talk) 22:16, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Not exactly he is a consistent character in the series. In the up coming season he's supposedly is appearing more often throughout the series, but we will see. He's a very notable character and has been quoted in pop culture.Mcelite (talk) 04:30, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- What other quotes in pop culture reference him besides the one obscure reference from WWE SmackDown? I honestly don't think any characters outside the main should have their own article, and I don't see how A Pimp Named Slickback is that notable. There's plenty of people who have never heard of him and probably never will. Aside from that, there's far too many quotes in his article, and they're basically all profanity-laced. That's not encyclopedic material in my opinion. --Antoshi~! T | C 21:25, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

- I have reverted a redirect of Ed Wuncler III and Gin Rummy to this article made by Some Other Editor without comment … I don't believe that there was a consensus to redirect any of them, regardless of their already having a section in this article … aside from that procedural issue, I have no opinion either way on the mergers. Let's convert all to redirects. -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- No merger There is no reason to merge the articles. They all have there own purpose and they have made reappearances.Mcelite (talk) 04:01, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- Merge all or most characters into one article without loss of significant content--some of the material in each character article on the interrelationship of the character will be duplicative and unnecessary after the merge. I think there are two extremes, equally unreasonable: one is to reduce character articles to a brief paragraph in a list, and the other is to make separate articles for each--except the principal characters of truly major fiction, and characters about whom there has been significant secondary discussion. I cannot judge whether this fiction is major enough for this--if it is, the people who know it should select which few characters warrant separate articles. If not, combine. The only reason why I have often defended other individual character articles at AfD is the well-justified fear that they would otherwise lose content, due to destructive merges and redirects by a few wide-ranging editors. If the editors concerned with these works can watch against such an attack here, it won't be a problem. (An even worse way of attacking fictional content is to remove combination articles--and for any non-trivial fiction, those are the ones that need especially to be defended.) We ought to concentrate our efforts. DGG (talk) 20:25, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I just noticed that there has been a {{mergeto}} on Rollo Goodlove (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) since April, 2008, so I added a {{mergefrom}} to this article for completeness … I'm starting to lean towards the "merge/redirect" of these articles since the current paragraphs about these characters in the article appear to be sufficient, given their lack of "real world notability" … if this is the consensus, then the {{The Boondocks}} template should also be edited to remove them. — 141.156.175.125 (talk) 20:48, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, after the "merge/redirect" the navbox has to be modified. -- Magioladitis (talk) 10:26, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- As usual, DGG makes some convincing arguments … I have no objection to the "merge/redirect" with all five articles, so long as (a) the {{mergefrom}} tags are removed, and (b) they are also removed from {{The Boondocks}}. — 141.156.175.125 (talk) 01:08, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rollo Goodlove took care of one of them … what about the others? — 141.156.175.125 (talk) 10:28, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Merge remaining Lovely characters, all of them, but I don't see need for them to be split apart due to WP:SIZE, and I don't see much in the way of notability outside of the work itself. I'd go into more detail, but as was said, DGG has already done a fine job of making the point. -Verdatum (talk) 14:42, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

- Merge or delete all unreferenced characters. As per WP:Verifiability "If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it." Freikorp (talk) 14:24, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
OK. It's clear to me either nobody watchers this page or nobody cares enough about the merge to do anything about it. I was going to go ahead and merge the characters myself, when I noticed the already have sizable paragraphs written about them in this article! Considering none of the 4 characters proposed for the merge have any references I'm simply redirecting their pages to this one. Anyone who wants to go and salvage pictures or tidbits of information is naturally welcome to do so; quite frankly I think there's too much unreferenced information on these fictional characters at this page already. Rollo Goodlove
editrollo goodlove's first appearance was the s-word, not the hunger strike —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.79.152.9 (talk) 00:34, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
One time characters
editFrom what I've seen, one-time characters are not include in "list of ... characters" articles. It is more appropriate to describe them in the individual episode summaries. I believe they can all be deleted. -Verdatum (talk) 15:17, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Move Characters Around/ Add Character
editI suggest that Thugnificent/ Otis be moved into the "other major characters" (or whatever the second group is) section or at the very least have Rummy moved down into other characters (the third group). The Eds, specifically Ed Sr. could be moved their as well. Rummy has never had an episode about him, Ed Sr. is just a secondary character in the few episodes he appears in and Ed III is regularly just a secondary character. Thugnificent has had two or three episodes about him and is a regular character. I don't feel comfortable making the decision, but if people they can do the moving or show approval and I'll do it.
Also, Ms. Van Hausen (IDK how to spell her name) has appeared in quite a few episodes and I believe she should get a small mention.--141.149.173.214 (talk) 16:16, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Lamilton
editThe Lamilton Taeshawn character is actually based on a real 7 year-old that stole his grandmother's car, the kids name is Latarian Milton with news cast videos of the event quoted lifted word for word in the episode. Should be some kind of mention of this but not sure where it can be placed as he has only been on one episode so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcqOgnQyXp4 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.17.147.126 (talk) 01:32, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Merge proposal
editI propose merging DuBois family into List of The Boondocks characters. The DuBois family page has no real-world context and no secondary sources. According to MOS:INUNIVERSE, the characters on the DuBois family page are described in way too much detail and include a lot of original research. There's no discussion of any real-world reception the DuBois family members have had, or cultural impact. I couldn't find any reliable sources that provided info on that front either. As such I think most of the page's contents can just be deleted, and all links to the DuBois page could easily be replaced by the List of The Boondocks characters page without any issue. 00yunje (talk) 18:50, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
