Episode style, summaries

Much of the episodes are extremely verbose plot summaries. Shortly, I will be using WP:PLOTSUM to address this article. I'm adding a quick note just in case anyone feels like discussing first, or even taking this into consideration themselves. Yngvarr (t) (c) 23:33, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

If the episodes aren't described in detail here then where? I understand that these are supposed to be short plot summaries, but I believe the descriptions can be expanded to provide a better resource when users are looking for more specific plot details. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Garrettpedia (talk • contribs) 17:56, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

I'd imagine a fansite would be their best bet if they want (for whatever reason) a full plot transcript, Wikipedia however definitely isn't. treelo _radda 23:12, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, someone has once again expanded the shortened summaries, many including meaningless details and even shot descriptions. As very many of these new summaries are also poorly written, I've taken it upon myself to shorten them as per WP:PLOTSUM. Please do not expand them again without consensus from these boards and Wiki's policies.

(Just to give an example of what I was talking about:

""Eye Sea You": While doing his laundry, K'nuckles and Flapjack spy on Bubbie to see what she does all day, and find out that she actually spies on other people. After a failed attempt to break her habit, Bubbie confesses that she does so out of loneliness, because K'nuckles and Flapjack are always away on adventures, and they all spy on Peppermint Larry together. Then, it is shown that a group of dolphins were spying on them. Then, it is shown that a monster that looks like a piece of text reading "THE END" is spying on them all and performs a sinister laugh...)

So one again, please do not expand them again without consensus from these boards and Wiki's policies. (However, as I had to redo almost the whole page some of my summaries my have inadvertently been too spartan. If you deem this case, expand the description within reason).

Nicely done there, I don't think consensus will change to allow for expansion really given PLOTSUM and the current length is decent enough, no real reason I can see to expand them from where they are. treelo _radda 21:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Production codes

I know that they're wrong based on CN Video filenames >_>, which are "technically" public information and are always in production order. At the very least, I can point to the first-volume DVD order[1] which shows the first four episodes (plus a mysterious "Captain and ToeNeil").

The copyright catalog[2] confirms a lot of these, although it says that "Eye Sea You" and "Cammie Island" should be switched around in this listing. I'd say that's full on public information, no technicality about it though not many will be digging around in the LOC copyright database. Still, the info contained on the LOC site will most likely be trustworthy (as will TVshowsonDVD) so if you want to, you can try and fit the new info in given the sourcing available. treelo _radda 23:21, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Copy Editing

This article is really in need of copy editing. For example

"Shave and a Haircut.. Two Friends!": When Captain K'nuckles believes he has found a map to Candied Island, he wants Flapjack read it, so they can reach heir destination. But Flapjack—in dire need of a haircut—is unable to. They go to Doctor Barber for a haircut, only to have him steal the map."

...Flapjack to read it...
...reach their destination...

Almost every description has minor errors like that. I correct them when I notice them, but I don't really have time to go through all the descriptions, especially as they are still regularly edited and expanded upon for some reason.

Please be on the look out for grammatical and spelling errors, and be aware of them when adding new descriptions.

Number of Episodes per Season

I'm curious where it was said that each season consists of 20 episodes. I only ask because on itunes you can buy whole seasons to digitally download, and there the seasons are 13 episodes each.24.190.34.219 (talk) 17:34, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

13 episodes in terms of an aired season, 20 in terms of a production season. A season runlength of 20 episodes is based on similar shows which are in production on Cartoon Network which are produced in 20 episode per season chunks. CN separates them out as 13 due to production timing and airing convenience. treelo _radda 18:36, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Better article

This could be a better article. I like Flapjack and we could make better plot descriptions a nd summaries on this page. We could also add a picture or something to make the article attract viewers. Please help. - Dpm12 May 27, 2010 8:30 AM

I think the description lengths are fine. These are only 12 minute episodes, there's no need for more than a sentence or two describing each. Overly lengthy summaries are discouraged as per WP:PLOTSUM. A picture, however, might be a good idea (but maybe better suited for the main Flapjack page then the episode list?). Most other TV show episode list pages don't have pictures, as far as I know, so I'm not sure if there's some format to follow.24.190.34.219 (talk) 16:48, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Segments --> episodes

In these edits @Aaron27gg: made good-faith, but bold edits, redefining episode segments as episodes. Many of the segments appear to have aired on the same date, presumably as paired episodes (note this for example. Since these edits were not accompanied by edit summaries or an explanation on the talk page beforehand, I think a consensus needs to be established for these changes.
