Names
editPer WP:MOS-AM, this article should be using the official English names from the anime release, not fan preferred spellings. I will be correcting this names as I can using Funimation's published list. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 18:00, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Followup question, kinda-- is there a good way to handle the juxtapositions of names that do/don't have official R1 versions? The major issue coming to mind is that Geneon/Funimation eliminated the long vowel markers from names from season 1, but haven't yet done anything (obviously/afaik) with the names that aren't introduced until afterward. So in the section for Jyūsan-hime Ran, I've standardized the romanization from the previous "Jyuusan-hime", but the sudden appearance of macronized vowels within the main text is slightly jarring. OTOH, I may just be light-headed from KokuMono overload :b since it certainly doesn't seem proper to preemptively strip the long vowel markers before Geneon/Funimation officially gets their hands on those, even if that would be their likely course of action (esp. for names that aren't in the anime at all and have only been used in the novels). -- Wombat1138 (talk) 16:08, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Merging
editI have tagged the three character articles for Shurei Hong, Seiran Si, and Ryuki Shi for merging back to this list. None of these characters have any real world notability as demonstrated by significant coverage in reliable sources. As such, they should not have their own articles. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 18:16, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- I opposed to this idea. --Tszkin (talk) 16:06, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- Why? Can you demonstrate notability for any of these characters (per Wikipedia's guidelines)? -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 16:19, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
- Merge
- First reason lack of notability as i doubt that anyone will bring reliable reviews that praise or criticize the characters.
- Second reason it is way easier to keep up to date one sole list. Editor easily favor the individual article of their favorite character neglecting the rest and the consequence is the whole set of list & individuals articles being out-off synchronization with each others. A good example is Mikan Sakura from Gakuen Alica compare the 3 characters profiles on from main Alice Gakuen article, one from the characters list and one her individual article and notice how they drift afar from each other. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KrebMarkt (talk • contribs) 16:49, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

removing PROD tag and restoring deleted page
editThis page was inappropriately marked with a PROD tag on July 3, 2022 by Just Another Cringy Username. As per Wikipedia's guidelines, "PROD must only be used if no opposition to the deletion is expected" and "Any objection kills the PROD procedure." I deleted the PROD tag on July 6th with an explanation of my objection. Nonetheless, the user deleted several tens of thousands of characters and then merged the remaining text with the main Saiunkoku page on July 7th. Please note also that PROD-based deletions are to be done by administrators, which Just Another Cringy Username is not.Soraciel (talk) 03:36, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
