Drama CD
editThere's another drama album, a Crossover album with xxxHolic: Zenin Drama CD: Private High School Horitsuba Gakuen, Released June 2006. [1] [2]
- It's hard to find any sources for the actually dates. I took the information from the Japanese wiki, ja:私立堀鐔学園. Thanks for the information, though its a few years late... AngelFire3423 (talk) 13:29, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Japanese Names
editIs it really necessary to give the Japanese name of the artist and a link to his/her/their page each time he is mentioned? Usually, it the kanji and the romaji are only needed once per article. Since this article is so long, I'd be okay with an internal link the first time in each section or subsection, because it starts to be a little bit much after a while. If the artist has no Wikipedia page, then I guess it would be alright to have the full name. On the subject of Maaya Sakamoto's name, isn't it usually "Maaya", not "Māya"? It changed halfway through the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Densetsu Tsubasa (talk • contribs) 01:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Since no one said anything, I went and changed it. I've left in one link to the artist per soundtrack. Take a look at the anime soundtracks category for more examples of how Anime OST's are usually done. —Densetsu Tsubasa (talk) 21:42, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Voice Actors
editFor the note on how Wantanuki, Yuuko and Mokona reprise their roles, instead of putting a asterik, would it be better to make a new section for notes like it says in Wikipedia:Footnotes#Separating reference lists and explanatory notes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by AngelFire3423 (talk • contribs) 14:55, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Comments
editHi,
I'm dropping my inputs. Let it be clear they are not mandatory to make this article great instead they are a sums of suggestions & comments to give another perspective of how to handle the subject.
- I suggest switching to WP:DISCOG rather than using WP:ALBUM.
- The issue is scale WP:ALBUM is better suited for just one album and not a list of albums & singles. List of soundtracks are all de-facto discography but we stick with the term list of to go along the list of episodes, list of chapters, list of characters so loved in the WP:ANIME project :p
- A second reason is WP:DISCOG being more flexible MOS wise as demonstrated with the series of Final Fantasy soundtracks articles.
- A third reason would be that WP:DISCOG include a chart ranking table in its MOS:DISCOG. For most/near all anime soundtracks will only have its charts ranking tables to assert its WP:NOTABILITY. The analogy is the anime franchise being an artist and that charts table its evidence of notability.
- A fourth reason. To put it bluntly people at WP:DISCOG are more available to assess/re-assess this article. See how many non-assessed article the WP:ALBUM had to deal with.
- A 5th reason. The album/single inbox will be no more mandatory as it was with WP:ALBUM. Up to you keep or not those boxes but i think i will be way cleaner without them.
- Re-using the analogy anime franchise = artist. I feel that a chronological presentation of its singles and albums would be more pertinent. Readers will be able to connect those releases with each season of the anime, OVA and movie. The presentation by albums & by singles would be also present with the presence of the chart ranking tables. In fine it will offer two perspectives of the same work one chronological & the other by type of release. That what we tried more and less to do with List of Aria (manga) soundtracks. You can also try to regroup singles & albums intuitively by seasons, ova, movie, vocals, etc... like my draft for Card Captor Sakura found User:KrebMarkt/WorkSpace.
- Another point are the drama albums. If you feel that the drama albums are unbalancing the article because you can't cover them evenly as the rest of the article then you can consider merging it back to the main article. In your case it should be a last resort action. The main reason is while they are in similar physical format, i mean CD. Audio soundtracks and drama albums content differs greatly so it is difficult to cover evenly potatoes & bananas in the article which is the case in this article.
- There are some place where you could synthesize a bit to avoid repetitions of the same line of text :( in addition of the usuals copy-editing that this article need.
- Last thing. Because there is no pre-etablished set of rules on how to handle anime soundtracks you have total freedom on the way to do it. You can even disregards what i wrote above. The sole thing is to know what you want to archieve and why.
Hopping to have been of some and to not bore you to doom --KrebMarkt 20:05, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- As you suggested, I changed the project label from WP:ALBUM to WP:DISCOG (I finally release this was what you were suggesting back at my user talk). Also could you clarify your second point a bit? I'm particularly confused with what exactly you're trying to say in the first bit, though I do understand that you're suggesting I put a list of releases like in the Aria soundtracks. I also get the feeling you want alot of the tracklists to disappear, which I rather not do (since I like having them there especially since it's somewhat difficult to find this information normally), but if that's how it should be done then I'll do it. AngelFire3423 (talk) 00:36, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Currently the soundtracks are organized like that:
- Album
- Future Soundscape I + Tracks list
- Future Soundscape II + Tracks list
- Future Soundscape III + Tracks list
- Future Soundscape IV + Tracks list
- Singles
- Blaze + Tracks list
- Loop + Tracks list
- Aerial + Tracks list
- Amrita + Tracks list
- It's + Tracks list
- Kazemachi Jet / Spica + Tracks list
- Synchronicity + Tracks list
- Saigo no Kajitsu / Mitsubashi to Kagakusha + Tracks list
- Kazeyomi + Tracks list
- Everlasting Songs + Tracks list
Full chronological organization:
- Season 1
- Blaze + 1 Loop
- Future Soundscape I + Tracks list
- Future Soundscape II + Tracks list
- Season 2
- It's + Kazemachi Jet / Spica
- Future Soundscape III + Tracks list
- Future Soundscape IV + Tracks list
- Movie: The Princess of the Country of Birdcages
- Amrita
- OVA Tsubasa Tokyo Revelation
- Synchronicity
- Saigo no Kajitsu / Mitsubashi to Kagakusha
- OVA Tsubasa Shunraiki
- Kazeyomi + Tracks list
- Everlasting Songs + Tracks list
The most intuitive organization:
- Season 1
- Blaze + 1 Loop
- Future Soundscape I + Tracks list
- Future Soundscape II + Tracks list
- Season 2
- It's + Kazemachi Jet / Spica
- Future Soundscape III + Tracks list
- Future Soundscape IV + Tracks list
- OVA Tsubasa Tokyo Revelation
- Synchronicity
- Saigo no Kajitsu / Mitsubashi to Kagakusha
- OVA Tsubasa Shunraiki
- Kazeyomi + Tracks list
- Everlasting Songs + Tracks list
- Movie: The Princess of the Country of Birdcages
- Amrita
Do this clarify all the possible forms of organization. --KrebMarkt 06:23, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah that clarifies it, but the only thing about doing it that way is putting the Future Soundscape tracks is that you get some tracks playing in both first and second season. AngelFire3423 (talk) 12:32, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Nevermind, a few songs were used in other season, but most of the songs in Futurescapes I + II where used in season 1 and Futurescapes III + IV were used in season, so I'll just put a note somewhere like in the lead about it. AngelFire3423 (talk) 12:40, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hope you don't mind me doing putting your comments inside a hidden box. But I have reorganized it now to fully chronological. Comments? I removed the tracklists from Kazeyomi and Everlasting Songs because even though they are albums, they really only have one song of interest (the theme song). Do you think I should keep the infoboxes on everything? AngelFire3423 (talk) 13:27, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- You have full control on that matter as long you know why you are doing it and able pull up some good arguments when someone ask you why. You have 3 possibilities keep all infoboxes, keep just the album infobox and keep none. If you are unsure you can just put the infobox in comment like i did with the List of Aria (manga) soundtracks.

- I forgot to tell you why there is no tracks lists for the maxi single. The answer is that everything was already said in prose form that isn't case for the Future Soundscape albums.
- I think you should add the chart ranks tables a very good example would One Piece discography. Doing so will give a synthesized view, the article will fulfill MOS:DISCOG and you will have table for albums & one for for maxi singles which is how you initially organized the soundtracks. In the end you will have two way to tell the same tales one Chronologically and the other by release type on the same article so readers happy. --KrebMarkt 16:57, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
- N.B: You noticed the one piece article is a discography and not a list of soundtracks. I guess, we are really on gray area and rules are not yet really established (naming, organization, etc..) --KrebMarkt 16:57, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
Look great Cheers
Now it's just copy-editing job which i suck in :( --KrebMarkt 15:22, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks alot for you're help. :) Do you think the actual album/single discriptions need to reworded? AngelFire3423 (talk) 23:06, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
- I will tweak it later. One More thing in my to do list. Right now i'm trying to save Azumanga Daioh from losing GA status --KrebMarkt 11:55, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
