Talk:List of U-boat aces

Latest comment: 16 years ago by Kralizec! in topic Merge?

The aces aren't listed in order, unless some of the tonnages are wrong.

edit

Needs to be redone to show the actual order, the text needs to also be fixed, as it doesn't count hte high scorers at the bottom of the list in numerical order, i.e. everything after number one needs to be bumped down two spaces.

I have changed the tonnages for Merten and Schultze to reflect those in their main articles. As it had been before the change, Merten's tonnage was stated as being higher than his immediate predecessor in the list, and Schultze's tonnage in this article as the same as Merten's tonnage in the article on Merten. You could just slap a cleanup template on it, for example, cleanup within this: {{}}.

I really like this page, it is setup very well. We should have more pages like this in lists of top-tens.--Grevlek 08:28, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)

2 JAN 2006 correctin needed (I don't know how else to post this note): Can someone please make a correction in this list? WHY is Henrich Lehmann-Willebrock listed as the German navy commander? He was the commander of a German submarine, not the WHOLE navy! -- Bill G.

Copyright?

edit

Forget all that. I doubt there will be a problem. BUT, for the sake of disambiguity, don't you think this should have been called something else? Or maybe added to the List of U-boat aces page instead??The UNeducated 08:27, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I wonder what question are you responding to? Deryck C. 12:36, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I'm not resonding to any question. My original question was, something on the order of, the copyright for "Aces Of the Deep." There are at this time, two articles with the same title. The only difference is the capitalisation of O in "of." The first article, Aces Of the Deep, is a reference to a computer sub simulation of the same name. Now someone comes along and creates this page, when perhaps it should have been an add on to List of U-boat aces instead. The UNeducated 13:58, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Yeah!

...let's celebrate some coward mass murders. ... why not. It's long been over. DAS MUSS MAN SPORTLICH SEHEN. service is service and schnapps is schnapps, like we say in germany.

Merge?

edit

To those who propose the merge:

I agree with the merge. The article List of U-boat aces is so short that we should try to get professional opinion about the factual accuracy and then merge the articles together. --Deryck C. 10:00, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merge. This isn't "Aces of the Deep" (which is hideously melodramatic), because it makes no mention at all of anybody who isn't German. Where are Wanklyn? O'Kane? Morton? Dealey? Davenport? Chapple? Hell, where are the WW1 aces? Trekphiler 14:49, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm going to go ahead and be bold and move this page back to List of U-boat aces, for the reasons stated by Trekphiler above. Also, it's a far more encyclopedic name for the article, and a better descriptor of what it contains. Parsecboy (talk) 23:47, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Given that the page already exists, and I'm not an admin, I guess I'll just post at WP:Ships and get it done that way. Meh. Parsecboy (talk) 23:49, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
There, the proper authorities have been notified. Parsecboy (talk) 23:54, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Linking names

edit

I find all the see main article stuff distracting so am going to just link all the names in the sub heafings. Lisiate 01:39, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
