More brands (Russian market)

Sun Brands

edit

Wisk, Snuggle, etc. are no longer Unilever. They are owned by Sun Products now and are gone from the Unilever website. I guess these should be removed, is a former brands section is needed?ChrisJsc (talk) 06:36, 10 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Blue Band

edit

"Blue Band — family-aware: margarine, bread, cream alternatives" see also Haugh, East Ayrshire (creamery). "The original spreadable margarine / Perfect for spreading, cooking & baking / High in monounsaturates / Low in saturates (underlined) / "--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 07:43, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Heartbrand

edit

The List of Unilever brands#Ice Cream section, which primarily documents the "Heartbrand", is quite detailed. Why does Heartbrand re-direct here, rather than having its own article with this content? sroc (talk) 12:07, 19 June 2013 (UTC) There seems to be no reason to split Heartbrand, given that it fits easily on this page along with the other brands. Splitting Heartbrand

edit

I'd argue that the Heartbrand definitely justifies its own article. The Heartbrand design is one of the biggest candy brands in the world. This List article should more just list different brands. I already wrote an article a two weeks ago but was reverted (by @Lithopsian). UnkreativeFrog (talk) 20:57, 30 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

If this is a formal proposal for a split, using one or more of the split templates will generate more visibility for your idea. A formal split proposal with (mostly) support will not get reverted (or if it is, the split will be enforced by other editors). Lithopsian (talk) 12:31, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@UnkreativeFrog, Lithopsian, Mafmafmaf, Mr. Lefty, and Satori Son: — I have added the requisite template and support a split. The 17-year-old merge request was on the basis that the Heartbrand article content was "already fully reproduced inside the Unilever article". There is now barely a mention of Heartbrand in Unilever, and the current redirect target List of Unilever brands#Desserts is just a patchy list jumbling regional Heartbrand aliases, brands within Heartbrand, other Unilever ice-cream brands, and non-ice-cream brands. Many of the Heartbrand aliases and products are not listed at all, and there is no history. In theory one could add the missing info from UnkreativeFrog's version to the Desserts section (perhaps in a Heartbrand subsection) but this article would become lopsided and also no longer be simply a list. jnestorius(talk) 01:58, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also @Sroc and Klbrain: given their 2010 discussion above. jnestorius(talk) 02:02, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
No objections from me if you think that references sources independent of the producer are available to support a separate article. The idea is that articles should be encyclopedic rather than a product catalogue or advertising brochure. Klbrain (talk) 13:40, 1 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm not a wikipedia expert, but i'd like to add that it took considerable effort for me to find out the British Heartbrand alias (Wall's), even though i was fully aware of there being different localized sub-brands. 2A02:A46C:8141:1:31B1:4290:405E:AD6F (talk) 22:24, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am removing the tags because, although I have no objections top the proposal, no editor as made the effort to write the proposed article. Dormskirk (talk) 10:43, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
