Very/too long?

edit

In November 2017, User:Jd22292 applied the banner, {{very long}}}, perhaps suggesting this article is too long. (See Wikipedia:Article size.). I believe it is long. However, I think it is not too long: it is a list article that briefly summarizes its subject and there is no "natural" way to split it. You are correct: I have looked again at the article, and it is simply not possible to reduce the size of the article either. I withdraw my suggestion. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk • contribs) 15:16, 9 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

The page most decidedly is too long; and it both feasible and reasonable to split it by century, or decade, or suchlike. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:53, 10 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Best way is to do post-1914 and pre-1914, and then possibly more if appropriate. That represents the constitutional amendment which switched the election of senators from chosen by state legislatures to popular direct elections. I might get around to doing it myself, I might not. If the 17xx to 1914 article that remains is too long, the next obvious split ought to take place around the civil war. Onetwothreeip (talk) 11:30, 25 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
