It would be very helpful to put the time period during which each model was active with Victoria's Secret or the name & date of the fashion show(s) that they were in next to their names. Nippy13 09:42, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Inclusion criterion
edit- @ Mbinerbri: You cannot only rely on FMD! Just because they didn't list some models have done Victoria's Secret, it doesn't mean that they have never worked for the brand. Before you delete and ruined the affluence of so many names on this list, all the models' names have worked for Victoria's Secret! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.224.67.14 (talk) 19:10, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Anyone considering adding a model to this list should keep in mind the following from the Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists) guideline:
"Ideally each entry on the list should have a Wikipedia article but this is not required if it is reasonable to expect an article could be forthcoming in the future."
To test the reasonableness of your expectations, (and prevent deletion from the list) you may want to create the article on the model first and then add it to this list. UnitedStatesian 15:01, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- Speaking of inclusion criteria, actually having posed for VS would be nice if a model is to be on this list. If you see me removing names - as I've been doing recently - it's because the Fashion Model Directory (it's usually an external link in most articles) doesn't credit them as having appeared in the catalogs or having walked their runway. Mbinebri talk ← 04:26, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Though it's very nice of you to be so helpful with protecting the accuracy of this page, I must protest that The Fashion Model Directory is a useful resource but hardly the be-all end-all for determining a model's inclusion or exclusion from this list. Model Ujjwala Raut, who plainly walked both the 2003 and 2002 shows does not have Victoria's Secret listed in her credits there. Additionally, models Nataliya Gotsiy, Nicole Trunfio and Tamiris Souza Freitas were all photographed for the magazine in 2006, but this work is not mentioned in any of their FMD profiles. Their pictures can be found here: http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/f96/victoria-s-secret-models-34478-17.html I'm sure many more cases abound. Even so, thanks for working on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.41.110.240 (talk) 13:10, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, believe me, I've never considered FMD the ultimate authority on what model has done what (and I've seen the site having mistakes), but in the absence of other sources to provide verification for a list prone to include numerous models that unquestionably never worked for VS, FMD seems like the best and easiest bet. If you have a similar site (no, not tFS) that is more accurate in determining model credentials, I would love to know about it.
- Also keep in mind that lists such as these are not meant to be all-inclusive. These lists should contain articles whose subjects are notable for meeting the criteria of the list and can be verified by secondary sources. So if no reliable secondary source has bothered to mention anywhere that so-and-so worked for VS for one catalog ten years ago, they don't necessarily need to be included (and probably shouldn't). Removing models
editAlthough the topic has been addressed above this one, I'll state this here just in case. Wiki's policy toward stand-alone lists specifies that for an item to be included, it must have its own article, or at least be verifiable that the subject meets inclusion criteria and could soon have its own article. After exhausting myself by copying and pasting names into search engines to check the Fashion Model Directory, it seems clear that most - if not all - the models that don't have articles that were on the list, aren't even VS models. So if you want to re-add a model, please cite a source to prove it. I recommend the Fashion Model Directory. Mbinebri talk ← 18:51, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Dates in the list
editI feel slightly bad about it, but I had to revert all the dates inserted into the list. First, it's detail that should be in the article itself, not the list. Secondly, much of it (particularly when a model first appeared in the catalog) is basically unverifiable - big problem. Third, it creates what you might call "misleading info." For example, Bar Refaeli was in the catalogs extremely briefly from what I know, yet it appears to be claimed that she has appeared in it ever since 2004, and I can point out a great number of listed models where the dates create the same misinformation. Lastly, it's an issue that some models would have these dates listed, yet a lot of others don't. Mbinebri talk ← 19:11, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
This model?
editAnyone know who this model is? Is she in the list? I just saw her for the first time in the lates catelog. http://www2.victoriassecret.com/images/prodpri2/V292112.jpg —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.158.33.203 (talk) 01:39, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
HELP!!! Can someone tell me the name of this model? http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=GL-253443 "Much appreciated!"
Does anyone know who this model is? http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=EH-250389&cgname=OSKEYCLOZZZ&rfnbr=2201 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.174.16.253 (talk) 05:54, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
- Not her most flattering pic, but that's Lily Aldridge. Mbinebri talk ← 22:17, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Who is this Victoria's Secret model?

- Sorry, don't know that one. But next time, you should just ask me on my talk page. I'm the only one who's probably going to answer and these article talk pages are for discussions on improving the article, not model identification. Mbinebri talk ← 14:54, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Well if she's modeling for Victoria's Secret (as you can see by the link), she should be on the list. I was not looking for a quick model identification for my own suspicions, but rather for the betterment of the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.174.16.253 (talk) 05:22, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Her name is Alyssa Miller, but since she doesn't have a wikipedia-entry, she cannot be included in the list
Alphabetical Order?
editShouldn't lists that are ordered by people's proper names be arranged in alphabetical order of surname rather than first name? Oscroft (talk) 13:39, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Also, judging by something like List of male tennis players, shouldn't flag/nationality come after the person's name, not before it? Oscroft (talk) 13:57, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- I've seen other lists with the flag icon coming first, but I'm not sure of any policy regarding this. As for the alphabetizing, yeah, it probably should be by surname, but that looks like one tedious task to rearrange it all. If you're up to the challenge, I applaud you! Mbinebri talk ← 15:40, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Incorrect or inconsistent alphabetical order is something that bugs me, so I may well make the effort - might not be too hard to take it out to a word processor, fix it up, then pull it back in again. The flags thing does seem to be debatable if there's no firm policy - leaving them at the front makes it all line up nicely, but I kinda think that stating their actual nationalities as well would be an improvement (most people won't know that many flags), and that way they would really need to be after their names. Anyway, I'll start on the alphabetical order, and I'll leave the flags thing for any further comments. Oscroft (talk) 16:31, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Now sorted in surname order (applause gratefully accepted :-). I was unsure about a few surnames with de, van der, von, so I'll have to check for wiki policy or precedent, and will come back and change them if necessary. Oscroft (talk) 18:15, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Nice job! You certainly made quick work of it! I would vote against actually stating nationality in the list though: it's not like pageantry, where the women are representing their countries, per se. Modeling for VS has little to do with nationality, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was brought up for discussion that the consensus would be that even the flag icons themselves should be removed per WP:MOSFLAG or WP:ICONDECORATION. Mbinebri talk ← 22:24, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! And good point about nationalities, I agree. I actually just noticed that the nationality pops up if you hover over the flag anyway, so happy to leave it as it is. Oscroft (talk) 03:15, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Kylie Bax
editI think that Kylie Bax only played the role of a Victoria's Secret model in the film Boys and Girls and didn't actually model for the brand. I think that Jessica Clarke is rightly credited as the brand's first New Zealand model see news report here. Anyone agree?.- Kiwipat (talk) 09:27, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
- You do appear to be right. Mbinebri talk ← 14:17, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
Models who posed for Victoria's Secret but didn't walk the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
editOn the page's section "Models who posed for Victoria's Secret but didn't walk the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show", I think the only relevant models are the ones who posed for the brand wearing their products. I don't think that models who posed for them without advertising their products (there is just one, Tiago Santos) should be featured in this list. --MirandaKeurr (talk) 16:37, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
Inaccurate Nationality for Stella Maxwell
editStella Maxwell isn't Belgian. At least not according to her passports. Her family live in Belfast, Northern Ireland and has described her family as Irish (not British) and stated that she holds both British and Irish passports, like everyone can in the north of Ireland.
I believe she's the first ever Irish Angel.
Source: "My parents are both from Belfast. I have an Irish passport and a British passport, and I go back every summer and every Christmas, and sometimes I pop over during the year to say hi, and, of course, celebrate St Patrick's Day.
"All my family look Irish. They act Irish."
