"Open Government"

edit

I have now created "Open Government", whch will hopefully serve as a template for future YM/YPM episode articles. Please visit Talk:Open Government to discuss how it can be improved before proceeding with any others. Thanks. Chris 42 02:05, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Table format

edit

In keeping with Wiki's standard for TV episode listings. I have started to convert each series to a table format. Since the synopses were straight lifts from the DVDs, I have attempted to shorten and re-word them. I am currently working on individual episode articles for YM, and will construct the tables for YPM when I get to those episodes (a while yet!). If anyone has any comments on this, they are all welcome so please feel free to discuss. :-) Chris 42 22:23, 8 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello, fellow YM fan! I added some information to the "Victory for Democracy" summary, please mind you don't remove it by accident. Thanks, laddiebuck 05:00, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

What I'll probably do, if it's okay with you, is to add that info to a "Trivia" section on that episode's article when I get around to writing it. Otherwise it wouldn't be in keeping with a one-line summary for each episode on this page. Don't worry — I'll make sure it's included! Chris 42 07:00, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, JPS! In that case, it was yes-minister.com that copied from the DVD covers. Chris 42 07:02, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Specials

edit

There are two tiny special clips which deserve inclusion for completeness' sake. One is where Humphrey wishes Hacker "Merry Christams" (clip length is about two minutes), another is where Hacker is giving a speech addressing the nation and doesn't realise it is live (about 1 minute). Both are available on the Region 1 DVD release.

Episodes

edit

I have redirected them here per WP:EPISODE. They have no real world information backed by sources, and the don't seem to have the possibility for it. Anyone attempting to bring them back needs sources beforehand. TTN 01:45, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

TTN: what is your problem? see Wikipedia:WikiProject Television/Episodes; episode pages are valuable. Plenty of possibility for 'real world' sources: Yes Minister is a classic, which has had a big impact on real life. See Yes Minister page. Wikipedia is about improving articles and building them up; hard to do if someone removes the raw material!
To Yes Minister fans. Seeing what TTN did to Foyle's War, I followed him here. Have restored the episode pages of series one for you.. run out of time, but I guess you'll do the rest. Have started a discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Television#Episode redirects about TTN's actions, so please contribute there to make your case for these pages. Gwinva 07:41, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
A can of worms has been opened... See debate going back several days at Village pump. There are some constructive suggestions by a number of people (with sandbox examples) amidst the emotive mud-slinging. Perhaps we can all contribute and reach a suitable consensus/policy.Gwinva 14:50, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have marked all YM and YPM episodes with {{notability}}. If no improvement is made to these articles within the next few months, they will be redirected or deleted. Arguing against this (while not improving the articles) will not count towards keeping the articles, but will likely be discounted as fan filibustering. If you really want to keep the articles, please establish individual notability through the addition of sourced real-world information for production and reception (two or three medium paragraphs should be sufficient). – sgeureka tc 13:53, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Where is the special with a cameo from Margaret Thatcher ? 95.150.63.52 (talk) 00:48, 25 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

revived ??

edit

What's really ment by this ? Wasn't all epispodes aired in the 80's ? Or is it a remake of some kind ? If the latter is the case, shouldn't it have an article of its own, 25 years afterwards ? Boeing720 (talk) 09:20, 13 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

There are broken incoming links from episode redirects due to the duplicated anchors. For example, A Conflict of Interest is the 12th episode of Yes, Prime Minister but redirects to episode 12 of Yes Minister. --Jameboy (talk) 16:41, 3 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
