Move YVR to Richmond?
editShouldn't YVR (Vancouver International Airport) be in Richmond? It's located there, not within Vancouver's city limits. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 19:40, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- In the article it does say that it's in Richmond but serves Vancouver. The list is set up for someone from outside of Vancouver/BC who may not know where the airport is located. This is pretty common for large airports that tend to be outside of the city but serve it, such as Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and Montréal-Mirabel International Airport. The heading of this article also says it's the place served rather than the location. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:24, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay. Just a heads-up though -- Richmond city council voted towards changing the name of the airport to Vancouver/Richmond International Airport. If it gets approval from the Minister of Transport (Lawrence Cannon), things might shift a bit. -→Buchanan-Hermit™/?! 17:24, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Don't know why they don't just call it "Sea Island Int'l Airport", since that's where it really is....in fact I think that's waht it used to be called, if maybe unofficially...i.e. "Sea Island Airport", meaning the old terminal and associated runways of courseSkookum1 (talk) 17:03, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Gun Lakes et al.
editI noted on this list that the Gun Lakes is listed as a heliport, but I know for a fact that there's an airstrip, maybe private?, at the northeast end of Big Gun Lake (have a look at GoogleEarth or BC Basemap). I also know that there was a water aerodrome there until some point in the '60s; it shows up on old maps and I think it even ahd scheduled flights; it was frmo there that Bralorne mines owner David Sloan took off on his final, fatal flight; that may have been from Little Gun Lake, actually, I 'm not sure - the Lodge there did land flights on that much smaller lake (1 sq mi - officially Lajoie Lake though always called Little Gun). There was also a water aerrdome on tyaughton Lake, where Tyax Mountain Lake Resort is, and it also had the little airplane symbol on old maps. There wa an airstrip at Bralorne, also, though it's overgrown now - on the plateau above Bradian aka Third Townsite. "Bridge River", now South Shalalth, was also a water aerodrome and I believe had scheduled flights; I have pictures of planes at the dock; but it may hav been BC Hydro/ BC Electric-related only; and floatplanes still use the far end of Seton Lake near Lillooet (despite overhaning transmission wires in that area....). I haven't checked the list for Jesmond, I'll look, but there's a picture on Randall & Kat's Flying Photos of it, I'll come back with a link. I think there was an airstrip, also at Pemberton Meadows and another at Port Douglas....oh that would be Tipella I guess...Skookum1 (talk) 17:03, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
I was just making the Gunn Valley article and while looking at Basemap, there's an airstrip marked near its southern end, near Fishem Lake; this area is to the west of the Taseko Lakes. Is this a registered airport? If not, why is it on Basemap?Skookum1 (talk) 00:15, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- It's listed in the Canada Flight Supplement under abandoned aerodromes. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 19:56, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Alexis Creek Airport
editI've seen planes landing here on this paved runway recently. In fact, my mother in law landed there on a private plane a couple years ago. I don't see it listed on either the active or the abandoned list. sources: https://cascadiarealty.ca/c1-ranch-alexis-creek-british-columbia https://www.google.ca/maps/place/52%C2%B003'52.0%22N+123%C2%B015'37.6%22W/@52.0643451,-123.2657944,1487m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x5478cd29cf493441:0x90a0c536702b3d!2sAlexis+Creek,+BC+V0L+1A0!3b1!8m2!3d52.082986!4d-123.277992!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d52.0644407!4d-123.2604477 Tatlayoko (talk) 00:36, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
