George Carlin

edit

This is a big one, and I'm surprised to see he isn't here. I don't know how to add names, I'm relatively new here, but George Carlin should be added to this list. Nicktheslayer (talk) 19:46, 21 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Richard Dawkins

edit

Richard Dawkins date of birth is incorrect and he is still verifiably alive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.242.219.196 (talk) 04:19, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I deny the existence of Richard Dawkins :P 86.30.9.123 (talk) 23:07, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Richard Dawkins also claims to be agnostic at the end scale towards atheism, but not an atheist because that relies on belief which he says he does not have. Both Theism and Atheism rely on belief. Contrary to his Wiki biography he is an Agnostic. In his book "The God Delusion" he describes himself as an Agnostic.Darmech (talk) 19:12, 8 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cartier-Bresson

edit

I do not consider the information here sufficient to include him, and I have removed him. The quote is an offhand remark while discussing another topic, and nothing in the full article supports it either. DGG ( talk ) 17:20, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

additionally, I do not think these lists should include anyone whose religious views are not significant to their career, or people famous enough that their religious views are significant in their life generally, but that needs to be discussed elsewhere DGG ( talk ) 17:24, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Personally I reckon if the person said it on the record then I think they ought to be on the list. This is a much clearer criteria than "relevance". Of course the source needs to be solid. I suspect the inclusion criteria needs to be discussed as a separate issue. Slimy asparagus (talk) 22:24, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't know how to add Jimmy Carr

edit

I don't know how to add a name so I thought I would contribute here maybe someone who knows how could put it in. He's a British stand-up comedian. "I don't believe in God, I'm not even an atheist I'm what you'd call an Anti-theist, I believe religion is a bad idea, I think its a tool used by the powers that be to control the weak minded in our society." 86.30.9.123 (talk) 18:01, 14 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jeffrey Dahmer

edit

Dahmer converted to Evangelical Christianity before his death. Either his listing here is outdated or the purpose of the page needs clarification. Even better he should be on a page for converts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slimy asparagus (talkcontribs) 21:40, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

You might want to bring this up at the talk page of the parent article, Talk:List of atheists, where there's a current discussion about the scope of these lists. The current scope is vaguely set out at List of atheists, but it's not clear to me whether converts are included. Be sure that your source claiming he converted is reliable – certain groups are notorious for falsely claiming people converted to their religion on their deathbed or whatever.
