editMany of these artists are not from Glasgow eg. Paulo Nutini and Gerry Rafferty are from Paisley. Biffy Clyro I believe are from Ayrshire —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.12.206.125 (talk • contribs)
- I trimmed a couple. Please feel free to trim more. --John (talk) 13:55, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Not from Glasgow
editAgain we see Jesus and Mary Chain creeping back in... the Reid brothers the main part of the band are from East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire... Yup, I know the bands wiki entry says East Kilbride, Glasgow but that's an error. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.235.42 (talk) 07:13, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Also Th' Faith Healers were from Camden, and I think their singer was from Lothian.
Teenage Fanclub are from Bellshill, North LAnarkshire...
Wet Wet Wet are from Clydebank, East Dunbartonshire —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.235.42 (talk) 07:21, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Removed also Sheena Easton and David Byrne —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.235.42 (talk) 07:25, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Biffy Clyro are from Ayrshire. Arab Strap are from Falkirk. Orange Juice are from Bearsden. These bands were involved in the Glasgow 'scene', but weren't actually from there. We need a clear definition of what makes a band a 'Glasgow band'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.244.204.44 (talk) 12:33, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
Not bands, duplicate info
editIn wikipedia, the term "band" is not very popular, "musical groups" is preferred. This page is a duplicate of the category, do we need it?. Musicians should not be listed here, when the list is supposed to be about groups. Correct alphabetical sorting please, see category to compare (E-Kartoffel (talk) 07:53, 24 July 2011 (UTC))
Musical artists? It does need changing. TrottieTrue (talk) 01:56, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
removing non-Glaswegian bands
editRemoving Marychain and Teengae Fanclub again, again, again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.197.127.250 (talk) 17:08, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
Wet Wet Wet and Simple Minds
editThe bands Wet Wet Wet and Simple Minds are absent from this list, but they both came from Glasgow. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 23:18, 4 October 2012 (UTC)
Another mass cull of non-Glasgow bands (and removed some broken entries)
editDo people not check that the artists actually have some kind of origin IN Glasgow before entering them??? Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire and Fife are Glasgow! 92.40.248.89 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 12:00, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
