What meaning does world's best-sellers have
editThe world's best-sellers listed in the beginning is not coherent with the national best sellers listed below.
Namely, if the ford f-series was sold 34 million times and the vw golf was sold 25 million times, then the list of world's best-sellers is clearly wrong. 92.151.130.97 (talk) 13:29, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
i would like to add that the f series is not a model. the f-150 is a different model than the f-250 and f-350 and they are all in different NHTSA categories of vehicles. it is not a chronological series, one lineally after the other. they are different sizes of trucks you can choose from with different options and trim levels all at the same time. the dodge rams are also unfairly bundled together as one model (1500, 2500, etc) when they are obviously different models. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.192.193.143 (talk) 00:46, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
Best selling sports car
editWhat's up with the Z cars being the best selling? From the production numbers found in the Ford Mustang article, one finds that the Mustang sold 9,000,000 See the section for 2008 units between 1964 and 2008, surpassing the Z cars by at least seven and a half million units in the 50 year production run. Why is it, then, not on the list? Shall I change it?
I just wanted to support the question about the F series and the Mustang not being listed as best sellers. The F series seems to be second only to the Corolla. The Mustang certainly outsold the Z and since sports car is a fuzzy term I would say the Mustang qualifies just like the Z. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.59.79.123 (talk) 13:56, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
Brand Bestsellers
editThe brand bestsellers table is very incomplete. Many British brands are missing (eg MG, Rover, Triumph, Austin, Morris, etc.) and there are no Korean or Chinese brands. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seftelcm (talk • contribs) 08:33, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- Also missing Indian brands -- Tata, Mahindra etc. 69.110.138.172 (talk) 18:20, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

Pre-Orders
editDo pre-orders count towards total automobile sales? If so, then Tesla's Model 3 has surpassed the Nissan Leaf as the best-selling all-electric car. [1] Apparentlyleopard (talk) 05:28, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

editwhy dose the beetle not inculd figres for New Beetle (A5) Fanoflionking
sense
editDose this list actually make sense for example it says the golf is the best selling VW with 30M sold but it not on the best seller list can this be Explain Fanoflionking 10:35, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
Absence of brands
editIt has come into my notice that certain brands have been excluded from the list hence those brand sales have not been given in the country figures or best selling figures. Notable omissions are Audi, maruti or suzuki the latter having huge sales figures in india with nearly half the cars sold in india for the past decade coming from them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.62.12.154 (talk) 04:50, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
Land Rover
editThe list shows Series/Defender but the Series and the Defender are different production models. They may look simliar, but they are not the same as classic VW Beetle and new VW Beetle or classic Mini and new Mini. The Defender is a replacement of the Series models, much like the Ford Focus is a replacement for the Ford Escort. 2A00:23C4:4883:D101:AC01:2376:7421:ECAC (talk) 01:09, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

continental
editthe continental division of Ford survived until 1986 as apart of the Lincoln-Mercury division. The top selling Continental branded car was the Mark V which sold almost 300000 units. Dartman2020 (talk) 07:06, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
World best selling
editI'm not sure how this classification in based on (f.o.a. I added a "citation needed"). What's more I'm NOT sure if we can assume the list is populated by cars which reached the best selling position by overtaking previous best seller. So I've started alphabetically to expand the list. mcg (talk) 08:25, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
