Hi Lopifalko,

I was thinking the award orginazations would be the primary sources. The media and press coverages are not the primary sources. @Jackiewaldan: A primary source is one from the subject itself, e.g. from the issuer of the award or the awardee. Primary sources are unimportant here, they do not demonstrate the notability of the topic. Instead this article needs multiple independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the subject. Please read WP:NLIST which I linked to above, as well as WP:STANDALONE. I remain to be convinced that "List of bird photography award winners" can satisfy that "a list topic is considered notable is if it has been discussed as a group or set by independent reliable sources". -Lopifalko (talk) 06:31, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Let me put back the text so I can refer to it. The "Bird Photographer Of The Year" paragraph for example, citation 10 has extended coverage of the award and the winners by BBC. Citation 11, 12, and so on also has independent reliable sources such as CNN, Forbes, The Times, etc. with significant coverage of it. Is that what you were looking for?

I really appreciate your time, BTW. I teach local students to photograph birds. One of the things they always look for is award winning bird photographers, so they can look for their work on social media, and hopefully hook up with them to improve their own skills.
